This is my 7th stay at the Elelctra Palace, (EP) the current is with my spouse and teenage son. I booked my room directly on the EP website as their loyalty program rewards repeat customers. We stayed August 4-6th, 2025, I booked a standard room but were graciously upgraded to a sea view room. I have submitted this review prior to our departure as I was confident with my experience. ||Arrival|I cannot stress how great it is to be met by perhaps the best front desk staff and bellmen. I have never waited to check in and staff are always smiling and willing to assist, a true testament of the professionalism of the Customer Relations department headed by Ms. Kolatskou and her colleague Mr. Georgaras. As our room was not ready (we arrived at 9:30am) , Mr. Georgaras quickly escorted us to the executive lounge where we enjoyed some fresh juice and well needed break from a early but short flight from Crete! Thank you for this!! When our room was ready, Spyro had staff bring our luggage to our room as we were out having some lunch. Seamless and comfortable arrival! ||Spa|In 2023 I used the spa services at the EP. I have repeatedly shared my experience with family and friends and have said it was the best massage I have ever had (Cretan). I again utilized their services this trip and booked the 70 min Cretan massage. Prior to the treatment I utilized the 90 degree pool and sauna. It was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities one could need for a relaxing escape from the city and a long travel day. The staff were attentive to my needs and the massage provided by Christina was hands down the most professional and incredible massage I have received. Thank you. ||Rooftop Restaurant/Pool|I always take the opportunity to enjoy a bottle of wine at the rooftop restaurant. Some staff have come to know me (Kosta) and it is always nice to see some of the same staff. During the day, the pool and restaurant are a casual place to relax, allowing kids and adults to use the moderately size pool. It has never felt crowded and they have made some great renovations. They have also updated the furniture with new chaise lounges! The food and beverage offerings are excellent and prices are in line with other higher end hotels, but remain reasonable in this challenging economic uncertainty caused by certain world leaders. In the evening the restaurant and bar offer a brilliant view of the square, wine is paired with a cheese/fruit platter, complimentary with the purchase of wine. Our severer one night (Elizabeth) was so happy to be serving my wife and I, always smiling. I have had dinner here in the past and I absolutely loved it! ||Breakfast I believe is complimentary for all hotel guests and is served at the rooftop restaurant. Get there early and you can have a table overlooking the square, stunning. Never seen so many attentive staff, any request I made was met asap. Speciality coffees are complimentary as our made to order eggs. I may have had the best scrambled eggs with feta. And please tip your server, even a couple of euros goes a long way. I noticed most people don’t, shame. ||Room|Our room was what we had booked with the exception of an upgrade to sea view with a small balcony. Not a smoker but if you are this will work for you. Room was immaculate, stocked bar fridge with some space for personal items. Beds and bedding, super comfortable! The bathroom is spacious and the shower is excellent with great water pressure’. No issues with the room and lines up with the cost.||Customer Relations Staff|I had previously communicated with the Customer Relations Manager Ms. Kolatskou about our early arrival and some minor medical issues I deal with. She placed a priority check in and our room was ready by 11:00am! As it was her day off, she ensured her colleague Mr. Georgaras was fully aware of our arrival and special request. He was so gracious and helpful, taking the initiative to introduce himself to my wife and son. If you are kind in your approach, I believe Ms. Kolatskou and Mr. Georgaras will do their utmost best to accommodate your request(s). These may be the kindest and sincere managers I have come across in my travels (I am 54 and retired 8 years ago, I have been travelling since between chemo/surgeries). The “treats” and lovely personalized note found upon arriving to our room was truly special. ||Do not hesitate to ask me specific questions, I am already looking forward to my next visit! I am Canadian of Macedonian descent and return yearly. I book my flights ensuring a transfer through Thessaloniki (great city) and with a stay at the...
Read moreMy wife and I spent 11 wonderful nights at the Electra Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki. ||As mentioned in some of my previous reviews, we stay in a lot of hotels, most of which are instantly forgettable. The Electra Palace however left a lasting impression and we have fond memories of our stay there. ||So what did we like about our stay?||1. Superb location: The hotel is situated in a bustling location in the centre of the city on Aristotle Square with plenty of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions both in the immediate vicinity as well as an easy walk away. ||2. Excellent hospitality: we were made to feel very welcome from check in to check out. Our special thanks to Alexia and Spyros from Guest Relations for ensuring that our stay was as enjoyable as possible and making us feel valued. Thanks also to Katerina, Panagiotis and Annie for their excellent service at breakfast and to Vaso for her's at dinner.||3. Excellent housekeeping: housekeeping was undertaken to a very high standard with our room serviced immaculately every day.||4. Lovely room: we had booked a deluxe sea view room and were allocated one on the 3rd floor. The balcony, with a very good view of Aristotle Square and the sea, was an excellent suntrap from morning until mid afternoon. The room was pleasantly furnished and thoughtfully designed to provide plenty of storage as well as an illusion of space. The bedding was good quality especially the pillows.||5. Lovely evening meal: we dined in the hotel's restaurant once and enjoyed our experience there very much. This was because of the wonderful views as well as the quality of the meal. Like all top quality establishments, the menu is not particularly extensive but the food was very fresh and beautifully cooked. The wine list was, however, quite extensive with something for every palate.||6. Good breakfasts: we were impressed with the variety of fruit, breads and pastries available at the buffet breakfast. Also, hot food, including eggs prepared in a variety of styles, continental style sausages, bacon, mushrooms and pancakes, was plentiful and well cooked. The breakfast finish times of 10:30 weekdays and 11:00 weekends is nowadays very civilised compared to many other city centre hotels.||7. Nice swimming pool: the rooftop swimming pool, while relatively small, was better than no pool at all. My wife is a keen swimmer and was happy getting a few laps every day of our stay. There are only a limited number of loungers by the pool but we were normally able to get one by timing our arrival to around lunchtime or shortly after. It did get busier later in the day though.||8. Wifi: generally reliable in the bedroom and restaurant though could be random on the balcony.||What could have been better?||1. Lifts: catching a lift during busy times was a frustrating experience as they had habit of going straight past our floor on several occasions before finally stopping.||2. Aircraft noise: the hotel is almost directly below the flight path for aircraft on approach to the local airport. There is therefore some aircraft noise by the pool and on the balcony though only those with sensitive hearing are likely to be troubled by it. Any noise is barely discernible in the bedroom because of good soundproofing.||Would we recommend the Electra Palace Hotel?||The answer is a resounding yes. Put briefly, this is a classy hotel with high standards of comfort and hospitality situated in a very convenient location. We will definitely stay again if we were to make another visit to...
Read moreI cannot recommend Electra Palace Thessaloniki enough! My stay at this hotel was originally intended to be a holiday adventure in Greece spanning from the end of June to the end of August. Little did I know that this stay would become a memorable experience for reasons beyond the typical vacation highlights.
Towards the end of my trip, I unexpectedly suffered a heart attack. This challenging situation could have been extremely daunting, but the incredible staff at Electra Palace Thessaloniki transformed it into a heartwarming story of compassion, care, and hospitality.
From the moment I checked in, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was nothing short of exceptional. They were always attentive and ready to assist with any request, making me feel like a valued guest. But it was when I fell ill that their true dedication shone through.
During my illness, the hotel staff didn't just take care of me; they extended their kindness and support to my wife as well. They made her feel not just like a guest but like an integral part of the Electra family. Their warmth and consideration provided a sense of security and comfort during a trying time.
The level of service we received at Electra Palace Thessaloniki was unparalleled. It was genuinely amazing and unlike anything we've ever experienced. Their attention to detail, genuine concern for their guests' well-being, and the way they go the extra mile to make you feel at home is truly exceptional.
In fact, I was so impressed with their care and hospitality that I returned to Electra Palace Thessaloniki for a two-week recovery period after my illness. During this time, the service remained consistently outstanding, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to their guests' well-being.
The hotel's stunning location, elegant decor, and sumptuous cuisine are all elements that contribute to an unforgettable stay. However, it is the dedication and kindness of the staff that truly set Electra Palace Thessaloniki apart. I am immensely grateful for their support during a challenging period in my life, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and heartwarming experience in Thessaloniki. Thank you, Electra Palace, for your exceptional service and for making us feel like a part of...
