The venue looks clean (you can clearly see the kitchen as you walk in and out of the toilet) and it is in an optimal location ; on a quiet section of a central, quiet and leafy street near a large park.
The salad with beet, potatoes and gherkins is tasty though it was prepared in the morning and left in the fridge.
The mushroom soup has a generous amount of fresh mushrooms and pieces of potato.
The flop is the so-called lyula kebab which is anything but a lyula kebab.
It is in fact the typical "kotlet" that was always served in Soviet canteens and consisted of pieces of bread, greens and whatever leftover meat was available.
The only difference between cotlets in the USSR and that in Siberia Thessaloniki is the latter has too much bread and little meat.
If this wasn't bad enough it was extremely salty to the point that it was very unpleasant to eat.
It is a one woman show because the kind lady takes the orders, serves, cooks and is also the cashier.
With multiple tasks it is perhaps not surprising she forgot to bring the vodka I ordered.
It was an honest mistake and she was clearly embarrassed and proceeded to take the item off the bill.
My two cents is that in life everything has a beginning and an end.
Painful as it is for me to write this because she seems like a lovely lady perhaps it is time to switch the lights off for the last time and find...
Read moreI am an American with Ukrainian/Russian heritage - yes, that happens a lot. The food is AMAZING. Pelmeni are homemade and taste exactly like my mom would cook 20 years ago. I talked with the owner - and she is all about the freshest and best ingredients (that become delicious food in skilled hands.) I never expected to find a place like this in Greece.
They also have have a lot of vegetarian options - and the lady who owns the place and cooks all the food from scratch is just lovely.
If you have at least some interest in Ukrainian/Russian food, this place is a must in Thessaloniki. Highly...
Read moreIf you are lucky to find them open, give it a try, but I DO NOT recommend you to plan anything for that restaurant.
Today was the 4th time when i tried to plan something at this place with friends and it failed because they are closed even though the day before I literally came there in person and asked if they are going to be open. I was told that they should. A few people cancelled their participation because of that and so the mood is ruined. I am genuinely angry with how little regard they have towards other people's time and appreciation of their services.
And because of that, I'm sorry to say that, but I will never set my foot in that restaurant again, I will never consider this place for a friend meeting again as well.
The food and drinks there are great and generally the service is nice too, but it is hard to appreciate that for a customer when the place is always closed when you try to visit it.
