Disappointing Experience at TriBeCa Thessaloniki Today (Sunday, November 3rd)
We have been visiting TriBeCa quite frequently over the past few days, and up until today, we had a great impression of the place. The food, especially the octopus salad, is outstanding, and the service had been consistently warm and welcoming. Sadly, today was a major letdown, all due to the behavior of the staff member at the entrance.
When we arrived with the intention to have lunch, we noticed an available table outside, which we knew from past visits was typically reserved for dining guests. We informed the staff member that we had come to eat, but despite this, he rudely dismissed us and insisted we sit inside at a table in the second row, far from the windows. His attitude was shockingly impolite, and he treated us with a complete lack of respect. When we questioned him about the outside table, he claimed it was reserved, even though it was clear to us from our past experiences that it was not. It seemed like this table was being saved for special guests or friends, rather than paying customers like us.
We refused the indoor table he offered and said we would wait. Shortly after, another table inside became free, right behind the outdoor section. As we were waiting for it to be cleaned, he deliberately seated another group there, giving us a condescending look that left us utterly shocked and insulted. His dismissive and disrespectful behavior was completely uncalled for, and it ruined our entire experience.
I just want to emphasize that if TriBeCa wants to maintain its reputation, the staff, particularly this individual, need proper training on how to treat customers. Respect, politeness, and an understanding of who is there to genuinely dine and spend money are essential. We were prepared to enjoy another wonderful meal, not just a casual drink, but instead, we were made to feel unwelcome and unvalued.
Unfortunately, today’s experience has made us reconsider...

Where else can you chat to the chefs hand making the best goyoza and putting the finishing touches to your crispy duck salad. My husband loved their beer on tap and the sake went down a treat with the goyoza and bao buns. We’re from Australia and still unused to sitting outside in Europe where people smoke, but they have heaps of outdoor seating. We sat inside and had a great view of the passing parade along the waterfront. They have seating teppinyaki style around the chef’s area and also a huge round table with a lazy susan that would seat about 8. This was more than a meal - it was entertainment - so glad...

We were invited to have a sit only on the condition that we need to order food. When we placed our order, the reply was :” only a sandwich ? Minimum 2 out of 3 need to be ordering food”
Not the proper way of making business or forcing products down your custom throats. Up selling and cross selling are skills that need emotional intelligence to be implemented.
Waited for the check because the waiters and “supervisor” were having a coffee break meeting in the front of the restaurant and it was impossible to get their attention.
In a nutshell - great view in front of the sea side, food and drink plenty for your choosing , the human factor needs to...
