Tavern by the Sea — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

During my recent trip, I had an unpleasant experience with a member of staff from the restaurant. While I didn't actually dine at the restaurant, I did have an interaction with a staff member on the sidewalk outside the establishment.

I was trying to dispose of some trash in the restaurant's bin when the staff member stopped us. He seemed to think that I didn't have the right to use their bin, and he spoke to me in a very rude and disrespectful tone. There was no need for the staff member to speak to me in such a manner.

As a visitor to this area, I was disappointed with the behavior of the restaurant's staff. It's important to remember that tourists often look for a friendly and welcoming environment when they visit a new place, and this experience left me with a negative impression of the restaurant.

Inconsistent : the first day we ate here we had a very nice meal - grilled perch - with service to match. Arrivati per puro caso in questa struttura. Con mia moglie abbiamo deciso di fermarci perché è stato l'unico locale dove non ci sono i "butta dentro" molto di moda solo nella zona di Kamari. Veniamo accolti dalla proprietaria, persona molto gentile e professionale (parla anche un buon italiano). Della struttura fa parte anche lo stabilimento adiacente dove i lettini e l'ombrellone sono compresi nel prezzo del pranzo, pratica molto in uso in tutta la Grecia. L'accesso alla spiaggia non è dei migliori anche perché c'è un canale di scolo che emana odori non proprio gradevoli. I lettini (con materassino per la seduta) e gli ombrelloni (paglia) sono nuovi e comodi, peccato che la loro parte di spiaggia non sia proprio molto pulita. Dal lettino è possibile anche fare aperitivo è presente un servizio spiaggia. Ristorante. Tavoli e sedute comodi e praticamente sul mare, il menu è vario e spazia da tanti piatti di carne e pesce, peccato per la selezione di vini pochi e con prezzi un po' troppo fuori mercato, meglio prendere un calice di vino e non la bottiglia. Nel complesso per il cibo che viene servito il prezzo è nella media di Kamari, e le porzioni sono giuste. Nota negativa, il locale è sprovvisto della toilette e di una doccia.
