The hotel was lovely! Great, clean pool, lovely but basic rooms and great staff! We were bed and breakfast and the food was very nice and fresh. Big shout out to Phoebe and Luca who were both amazing, a credit to the hotel! They made our stay very enjoyable and were great to be around. Great customer service from Phoebe, always! And Luca with his special cocktail skills! We miss you already! đ Iâve seen a few negative reviews about the hotel rooms, I believe they all are different shapes and sizes. Ours was perfect, great sea view room, nice big comfy bed, fridge and plenty of storage space. (We emailed the hotel and requested a sea view room, we had room 112) Yes the showers are very tiny!! But do the job. If youâre looking for luxury then maybe this isnât for you. But if youâre like me and just want something simple as youâre not going to be in your room all the time then this place is perfect! Great location and close to everything you could need! Beach was also lovely, we didnât have sea shoes but we managed and only spent a couple of hours by the beach. If youâre a beach person and going to be there most days. Then I recommend sea shoes, plenty of shops that sell them there. The sunbeds were also comfortable and treat yourself to a massage on the beach like we did. It was lovely. Great selection of bars and places to eat! Our favourites were captains corner, black stone and Elias grill. They are very popular! Albatross beach bar was a very lovely setting with chilling live music on every night! Thereâs so many to choose from! We hired a quad bike for a day and explored the island which I highly recommend, it is worth doing and you can go to so many different places, 45 euros for 24 hours, we went to all the prime locations. Pygros is a must! Itâs beautiful there, perfect for sunsets, cute little village with shops and bars. Rita bar was our favourite! It is quiet and peaceful, itâs a mini oia in my opinion. We done a sunset boat tour through faros tours which again is a must! On our last few days Kamari itself seems to be getting a lot busier as itâs getting to that time of year but we had a perfect stay. I could say so much more! But great location and loved every...
Read moreMy favorite part about Kamari Beach Hotel was the beautiful pool setup (with poolside bar/restaurant) and the staff that just truly went above and beyond in every way to ensure each guest's stay was enjoyable. From the woman managing the front desk to the guy that all too happily hauled our luggage up four floors to the bartenders at the pool, everyone was all smiles, genuinely warm and friendly, and attentive. They made it feel like you were guests in their own home.
The rooms here were clean but a little simpler than other places we've stayed during our tour of Athens, Santorini and Mykonos. We stayed in one of the "penthouse" rooms, which is less a "penthouse" than a typical hotel room with a seaside view somewhat obstructed by the roof. It was still beautiful, though, and we enjoyed having a balcony to dry clothes and towels.
Kamari Beach offers the convenient of food practically all day with a decent selection of lunch and dinner dishes. It's located on a strip of restaurants, hotels and shops that make it convenient to do some basic souvenir shopping and restaurant browsing.
The beach itself has a beautiful view â be aware that the black sand here is rough and difficult to walk on. I recommend packing water shoes. There are also many women that walk back and forth across these beaches trying to sell you massages â to the point where it's obnoxious.
While there is plenty to see and do around Kamari, it's quite a ways from Oia, the main attraction of Santorini that you see in all the photos. This was the biggest disappointment for me. Provide yourself with plenty of time to take the bus there and back (1 to 1.5 hours one way, depending on how long you have to wait for each bus).
In terms of nearby restaurants, I highly recommend Metaxy Mas and To Pinakio for authentic Santorini food that doesn't cost an...
Read moreWe stayed at Kamari beach for our recent couples holiday to Santorini. The location was 10/10 with it being right on the beach front and just moments away from the sea front restaurants, bars and cafes. The pebble/black beach has lots of sunbeds which are included in the hotel stay with parasols providing shade. The pool is a decent size and there are a far amount of sun beds round the pool, however, towards the end of our stay it did descend into sun bed wars as the sea was too choppy to go in. Pool bar is lovely, nice drinks and food but service could be slightly slow. There is a games room with a pool/snooker table. We were âupgradedâ from a standard room to a family room for 2 of us so it was very spacious. It was slightly noisy at times as was part of the courtyard so we didnât have a private balcony either. Rooms are clean and basic but have everything you need plus a free safe and fridge. Our aircon unfortunately started making a very loud noise after 5 days and we asked for someone to come to fix this 3 times but this did not happen. Thankfully the room was so cold from the aircon that we could turn it off at night, otherwise we would not have been able to sleep with it on. Breakfast is limited. There is enough choice that you can find something. There are breads, cold salads, cereal, yoghurt, tinned fruit, some cooked eggs/bacon but no proper sausages. Juice is not fresh. Coffee machine is acceptable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the location really makes it amazing so we would...
