Τα Δελφίνια — Restaurant in Sami Municipality

My partner and I stayed in Kefalonia for a week and it was by far the worst place we ate in. Despite being quiet, staff were quite sort and condescending to us. After ordering something and telling us it was not available, I ordered something else to be told by the waiter 10min later it wasn't available either, so ended up ordering a mousakka that was bland and tasted like nothing, also clear it had been cooked if not days before as the top layer was burnt, so I ended up having two bites at most. My partner had the beef stifado and at least had some taste, but the appetizer was fried courgette that had been clearly burnt too!

When we left the maître saw I did not eat my food, which I was honest about being tasteless, so he didn't charge us for that dish. We left feeling a bit better about the experience, to realise 3min later we left a nice souvenir in a paper bag at the table. When my partner went back to collect it, we were informed it was propably in the rubbish, as our table had been cleared (but our food was still on the side). The waiter was not happy he had to look for it and when it was returned, the souvenir had been taken out of the plastic wrapping inside the paper bag... very suspicioud indeed.

Please save yourselves the time and money, there are much better places around...

We had a lovely meal with friends earlier in the week but when we returned without our friends a few days later the meal was really awful. We did discuss our disappointment with the proprietor as we have eaten at this restaurant many times over the past 5 years. Unfortunately my 80 year old husband suffering from early onset dementia couldnt help himself and upset the proprietor which resulted in us being barred from eating at his restaurant again. I doubt we will return to Sami anyway so it doesn't matter but my advice if your meal is substandard return it immediately. Don't wait until the bill needs to be settled because if you have eaten it then all evidence of a terrible meal has been removed. About the food i can't give you my opinion. My review is about hospitality and professionalism. And those are awful. Last night Dimitri thought that is was needed to make a party (which is good) and therefore it is needed to turn the volume of the speakers to max. The whole harbour could 'enjoy'. When requesting to lower the volume (@00:30) this was ignored. I did also the suggesting to Dimitri to stop singing in the microfoon as he was drunk (terrible performance). The owner of the restaurant became sudden angry and hostile. At approx 02/02:30 Dimitri finally went to bed.
