Adonis Restaurant — Restaurant in Sami Municipality

Situated on the harbour front with an immediate view of the docked yachts and wee boats, this is a lovely family friendly restaurant. The staff are pleasant and the menu is vast. I selected from the separate vegan menu they had on offer and was not disappointed. Fried zucchini for starters. This was accompanied with bread and olives. Briam (Greek stew) for main. Plus I ordered a half ltr of white wine. Total cost was £22. The only thing that let this place down was the very slow service in clearing my table when I had finished eating. I wanted to relax with my wine and watch the world go by but my dirt dishes remained in situ. They didn't take away my starter plate when they brought my main. So. Not a big deal but I would've preferred this. However the food was excellent and the location was great. I did eat here twice so the service wasn't that big an issue for me. Approximately £22 for my dinner with wine both nights....

Starting with the service, the waiters were very friendly, they relaxed and accommodating. They suggested excellent wines to pair with our food choices, they were very prompt with any of our requests, they brought the food in the order we told them and quickly as well.

The food was also delicious, especially the seafood and appetizers. We ordered a lot for 4 people (the waiter -to his credit- told us that the quantity was enough), because the portions were quite a bit bigger than the rest of the restaurants we encountered in Sami. Everything was fresh, tasted excellent and was cooked / prepared to perfection. Nothing more to say.

The atmosphere was also excellent. We had dinner after sunset, and the streets of Sami were busy, but never loud. The restaurant was very clean, elegant and you could tell that attention was paid to every detail.

I ordered sardines which were fresh and served grilled with lemon. I can recommend 👌 those. The view was also lovely, looking at the boats moored up. Not over priced. Others in my party had reservations about their food (steak underdone, then overdone, moussaka cold inside, salad which had cucumber but shouldn't have had it as that wasn't in the description...oh dear...) but my fish dish was delicious 😋. Unfortunately, the complaints from some others on my table spoilt the overall ambience of the meal, (but they were right to complain about their food.) The waiter tried to make amends, bringing us free 🍉 which was kind, and drinks but no one was drinking as they had to drive/ didn't drink alcohol, which was a shame. Nice location. They also accommodated our group of 11 without a reservation. So, the service...
