Before I get into this review, I think it is important to point out that Skiathos (in terms of its restaurant, tavernas and other eateries) is very short on seasonal staff and has been for the past 2 years. As such, certain places are finding it difficult to cope with demand at peak times and thus, you may find yourself waiting a bit longer than expected for food orders. Indeed, before we visited the restaurant I am about to review, we heard how people had waited for an hour before getting their food and some that had actually left without eating. All I can say is this. Please be patient with the staff in times of high demand or, go for your meal earlier to avoid long waits. With this in mind, we went for our meal at this particular restaurant around 7pm and were served promptly. And so to the review: based on our experience.
Set in a side street of Skiathos, the restaurant has a very welcoming appearance that is complimented by the beautiful blossom trees surrounding it. As I have alluded to, we arrived early in the evening so had a choice of where to sit.
The menu is nicely varied and caters for all but the fussiest of eaters. I myself went there for one thing and one thing only … the beef steak. My partner opted for the Chicken Renoir.
I can report that both dishes were served quickly and were delicious but had a few minor issues; hence the 4 star review.
Though the steak comes with fries and salad, I declined these because I wanted to “enjoy” the steak on its own and -given its size - didn’t want to over face myself with “additions”. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare.
When the steak arrived, I saw that it was cooked to perfection and was one of the tastiest, well-seasoned steaks I have had in a while. However, I felt that the chef had left a little too much gristle on it - which could have easily been removed in the prep stage - and there was a stray piece of sharp bone left in this particular cut of meat. Unless it’s a t-bone (or tomahawk as they call it here) I do not expect nor want to find any bone in my steak.
The chicken Renoir was again, a very tasty and well-presented dish. However, the salad on the same plate had been drenched in a dressing that kind of conflicted with the beautiful “mild curry” sauce on the chicken. It would have been better NOT to have added dressing to the salad because it resulted in too much going on for the tastebuds to register.
All-in-all, the service and the food at this establishment was most acceptable and I would recommend visiting it … just maybe not at peak time which is around...

We had dinner at this Greek restaurant and it was honestly a fantastic surprise! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with that Mediterranean charm that instantly makes you feel like you’re on holiday. The food was delicious, authentic, beautifully presented, and—finally—a place where portions are generous enough to leave you full and happy.
But the absolute highlight of the evening was Cristina, our server. She was amazing – super kind, incredibly attentive, and just genuinely fun to talk to. Her energy lit up the room, and she made us feel so welcome from the moment we sat down. Professional, yet warm and natural – the kind of person who makes you want to come back just for...
Read moreTry the kleftiko lamb or you'll regret it. Seriously. Other than that, just a friendly heads-up: when you order something medium done like steak, in most non-steak-houses it will be more on the side of medium - well done for most tastes. This is a cultural thing. If you want a bloody core, let the waiters know. Pretty good house rosé as well.
The tables outside have a slight tilt since most of them are on the side alley which leads to the port. If you want a quiet table go around the forget corner from the pub. If you're more of a party animal on ever other side front and center is the...
