Located on the main Skiathos road - by bus stop 16 - PorknRoll is a new eatery that offers a good selection of food for meat lovers, salad lovers, kids and more or less everyone else in between.
On entering the restaurant, one is struck by the cleanliness of the dining area which is complimented by being presented in a very modern setting.
Condiments and cutlery are already present on the tables, as too are glasses for water.
Though the menu is quite varied, we opted for a cheese burger with an egg on top and the truffle burger.
These came served with beautifully fried and well seasoned wedges, a garlic mayo and a dip that was similar to a hollandaise sauce, served on a wooden platter.
For me, the taste and texture of the burger was on point, but hereās the thing: The burgers are made fresh (not frozen or re-heated) and it was assumed that we would like our burgers cooked medium-rare ⦠ie, pink in the middle. Again, for me, this was great but for my partner (who likes her meat cremated) it was a bit of a let down. This said, we did discuss it with the owner who assured us that he would take the critique on board and ask future customers their preference. The ownerās ability to accept āconstructiveā criticism in such a professional manner is the very reason that I havenāt rated this a four star.
The toilet facilities here are exceptional. Clean and modern and have enough access room for those in a wheelchair.
Overall, my experience at PorknRoll was superb - good service, clean, great food and realistically priced - and I wouldnāt hesitate at recommending you visit at least once.
Ooo, one last thing. The owner did tell us that he would be adding a ārib eyeā steak to the menu which is enough reason in itself for us to go back again soon šš¼

Ā Ā Ā Read moreGod where do I start, I've been to Skiathos some years now, and restaurants like this give me hope that not only Skiathos, but Greece itself have and always will make some of the most extraordinary food ever. The atmosphere is so chill, listening to music, whether it be ABBA, Queen or Def leopard, the buzz and energy of how busy it gets, amazing. Now onto the food, I do like to see a menu that is an appropriate size, anything where you have tonnes and tonnes of choice, it just cannot all be fresh, here you have a dozen different options for starters, mains and deserts and the "Pork & Roll Burger", with the egg on, perfectly cooked beef steak burger, ah, salivating just thinking about it, and if you're in a hurry, you can take away too, why not. Lastly, the team there is superb, adoring of my two little girls, very accommodating and humble, Greek hospitality to a T. So give this place a try, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
Thanks again from me and family, Thomas...
