Was really looking forward to coming here - what drew us in when we checked the menu earlier in the day was the simi salad which we decided to share as a starter as we both love dry figs in a salad so the choice was a no brainer. Half way thru eating the salad we both commented that we hadn’t come across any figs!! So we thought we’d mention it to our server - once she understood us she went to check why they were omitted, came back and said they had run out of figs - this wasn’t disclosed upon ordering as we would have choose something else. (At first she tried so say they were cut up very small 😂). When the bill came it was still full priced and on top of that they charged us for a 30ml bottle of olive oil with our bread which we assumed (wrongly) that it was just a condiment. Had we ordered a steak and fries with pepper sauce and it was served without any of those ingredients anyone would have complained and would have expected a deduction or refund. In this case we got no offer to reduce or gesture of goodwill whatsoever !! The food we did receive was good and I have no complaints but to leave a key ingredient out of a salad seems that the restaurant has a complete lack of customer service especially when they charged full price for the salad!!! Seems an end of season fatigue has set in. Others...
Read more9 out of 10 people recommended Simi, so of course we went. The food is good, but it's a place I would never recommend due to their attitude. At the end of our meal, we asked for feta and watermelon. They brought feta. We waited and waited and waited for the watermelon…. We asked several times within 30 minutes, and finally they said there was no more. We asked the bill. At the sametime other Turkish group at our next table asked about watermelon to the waiter. The waiter went inside. I watched it specifically. We made eye contact with the waiter while he was serving the sliced watermelon on the plate. I hope they were a little embarrassed. We left quietly because we didn't want to turn the topic into an argument. 2 seafood pasta, 1 fish soup, 1 shrimp, 1 grilled octopus, 1 roket salad, 1 beef with mushroom sauce and 2 portions of burger, 2 bottles of ouzo. 150 euro. By the way, we ordered the burger as a hamburger for the kids, but it came with a huge meatball, potatoes and greens. I'm writing this so you don't make the same mistake :) however if you want to eat delicious seafood and get friendly service in Thassos, I have mentioned the places where you can find it in my...
Read moreStarting with the best part, the location is beautiful. In Limenas Old Port, you can enjoy a good evening meal vith the sunset. The food is good, but i wouldn't go as far as calling it the best on the island. The service however leaves a lot to be desired firstly because you will find that prices in the menus are different from menu to menu, and you might find yourself paying more than you expect.(seriously, take a FOTO of what you ordered) This problem is a lot more serious since you will get several cheques in greak hand writing and the same number of fiscal cheques with no details at all. A total nightmare for a big table. Lastly... You will get water and bread and sometimes some starters that you naturally assume are on the house, since you did not order them, but you will be surprised to find them on the unreadable bill at rather hefty prices (2 Euro for a bottle of water and 1.5 for a bread basket) For this service problem i would recommend trying something else, because the high ratings turned this place from a very nice place into a turist trap...
