During my stay on Zakynthos, I visited many restaurants and bars, but Avra truly stood out as something special. It’s a family-run restaurant where all the staff are brothers and cousins, and the place is managed by their father. The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and welcoming — it truly feels like you're being hosted by family.

We dined here three times, and every experience was absolutely exceptional. On our last visit, they organized a traditional Greek evening that was nothing short of unforgettable — the food, music, and energy made for a perfect night.

What amazed us the most was the incredibly kind and hard-working staff. Despite hosting around 150 guests that evening, the entire dinner was prepared and served by just four amazing women. The food was consistently delicious, rich in flavor, and truly authentic.

We are regular visitors to Tsilivi and choose the same 5 or 6 restaurants across our holiday. These restaurants are all outdoors and the food quality and service are superb. We have to say Avra is our favourite. Top quality restaurants do not need reviews but Avra needs a little help as it is slightly out of the centre and unless you know it’s there you could end up missing this gem. The choice of food and quality is outstanding - all cooked to order. The service is excellent and helpful. We always visit twice across our holiday and will certainly be back again. We’re two families from Australia who visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from the captain of our boat tour — and it did not disappoint!

This place ticked all the boxes: delicious, authentic Greek food, beautiful traditional furniture, Greek music softly playing in the background, and a peaceful outdoor setting that made the whole experience feel special.

The staff were warm and attentive, and the owner was incredibly friendly. We mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, and they went above and beyond — surprising us with a birthday cake so we could sing and celebrate properly.
