This location was recommended by our hotel. Unfortunately, for us, it was not up to the hype. Although the restaurant is located near the main street in Laganas, it was pretty far from our hotel and other more popular restaurants located on the beach. So, right off the bat, after taking a long stroll for our evening meal, we were expecting for the trip to be worth it. The restaurant itself looks very good, nicely decorated, on the upscale side, and the prices seem to match - compared to other restaurants where we have eaten in Laganas. We were greeted pretty quickly and managed to get a table for our party of three, even though at 8:30 PM when we arrived, the restaurant was already full. They had a very nice menu and also a kids' menu, which was a plus, as our little girl was with us. The drinks menu was varied as well. The staff seemed pretty attentive to the patrons and our order was taken fairly quickly. Actually, we were served and interacted with four different waiters. Something to mention is the fact that we were asked how we wanted to pay at the beginning, when our order was taken, something that we have never experienced before in a restaurant, especially in Greece. We opted for some traditional dishes: Kleftoko - lamb, Beef stifado and Chicken souvlaky skewer from the kids' menu. The drinks came rather quickly and were followed pretty soon after by the food - a plus, since we were hungry and dreaded a long wait after seeing that the restaurant was full. The beef stifado had a nice flavour but the meat was a bit tough, not at all slow cooked as the description suggested. The presentation of the lamb was spectacular - it came separate from our other dishes and we had a little visual show, as the waiter brought it in flames. We quickly realised that this was a gimmick, and possibly something to help reheat the dish. Unfortunately, in our case it was unsuccessful, as the lamb was already cold - a no-no for this type of meat. The accompanying vegetables seemed undercooked and the only thing which was a little bit warm from this entire dish were the potatoes. The chicken souvlaky was very good and adequately prepared. When the server asked us about the food and we told her about the cold lamb dish, she agreed that it shouldn't be like that and expressed her regrets. We soon received a complementary cake, some sort of Greek custard which was very good. Then, we asked for the check, from two separate waiters, but we did not receive it. After bringing us some complementary shots (limoncello for the adults and cranberry juice for our child), the second waiter brought us the check for cash payment. Even though we specified we wanted to pay by card, both in the beginning, to another waiter, and in the end, when we talked to this third waiter about the check. Fortunately, we had cash, so we managed to pay a 70 euros check for 3 maim courses, 1 alcoholic cocktail, 1 mocktail and 1 beer. In conclusion, the food was ok-ish, the restaurant, atmosphere and the staff were good, the service was quick but we will not visit a second time, due to the...
Read moreGRECOS delivers an authentic and satisfying Greek dining experience, evident from the delightful dish I had. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a laid-back meal with friends or family.
The meal featured here was a beautifully presented plate of gyros, accompanied by a fresh salad, a generous portion of golden fries, and a side of tzatziki sauce. The gyros meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, complemented by the crunch of freshly chopped onions on top. The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—exactly as they should be. The salad was a refreshing mix of greens, onions, and bell peppers, adding a nice balance to the rich flavors of the gyros. The tzatziki was creamy and flavorful, with just the right hint of garlic and cucumber.
The food quality was matched by the service; the staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that the dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. The beer served alongside was a refreshing accompaniment, rounding off the meal nicely.
Overall, GRECOS is a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Greek cuisine. The combination of excellent food, warm service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a standout choice. Highly...
Read moreFood was incredibly tasty and the atmosphere was lovely and really aesthetically pleasing. Would recommend making a booking before visiting as it is always looks quite busy and just makes wait times to be seated shorter. But even despite it being very busy, we only waited about 5-10 minutes for a table for 2. The only issue we had is that each course was served very quickly and we were absolutely bursting by the end of the meal, when we were hoping to sit and relax for a few hours on our last night in Laganas. Other wise waiters were very friendly and accommodating and we were even offered free extra pita with our tzakiki starter (best tzakiki I've ever had btw) and offered a free dessert to share at the end of our mains. We had planned to have a 3 course meal and a couple of bottles of wine in this restaurant (all of which we got). However, for the amount of money we intended and ended up spending the rushed nature of the courses was a shame as it slightly dampened the experience. Overall a pleasant experience with delicious food, just wished we had longer to enjoy it. We also got free limoncello shots at the end of our meal which was a lovely way to...
