Jester’s Kitchen Bar — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

We followed reviews quite intensely before we arrived as a party of 9 we booked a table in advance. On arrival we were allocated a table, the young lady was very attentive she took our drinks order and despite us requesting separate bills she was not fazed. Drinks arrived then another waitress turned up to take our food order following recommendations four of us opted for the Jesters Burger which i was duly informed was massive. The food came in dribs and drabs so we didn't all eat together despite there been enough staff in the kitchen. As for the four burgers bacon was stone cold on all four but the main disappointment was the seasoning in the beef patties, inedible three of the four were tried but left but i couldn't wouldn't eat mine. Before anyone comments yes i did complain but the response was the usual i will pass it on to the management, no concession no apology. We did not return for most of the fourteen days we were there until the second week when we decided to give it another chance, staff completely different for breakfast but yet again they don't seem to have the capacity to cater for large groups so our breakfasts yet again came out staggered to the point where four of our group finished before our food arrived. The restaurant was just asking the main strip in Alykanas. We went here mainly for the Sunday roast as we'd heard only here and the Roadhouse restaurant offered it. Unfortunately they only had chicken roast left which was a little disappointing. No beef or lamb available which was strange as it wasn't busy and we got there early evening. Anyway the roast chicken was very good even if not the best presented. You got chicken, roast potatoes, mash, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and a nice gravy. They had mint sauce and horseradish to offer. My son had the bacon burger and said that was equally excellent. Found this place on day 2 of our holidays, had our breakfasts for the rest of our stay there.Food is amazing all freshly cooked, tried the jester special burger could not finish it. Very generous portion sizes. Baklava cheesecake to die for, I think my granddaughter polished off all the maple syrup and honey pancakes. So to Jayne and staff thank you for the lovely food and atmosphere your kitchen bar oozes, not to mention the extra stone you put on me.
