Scalini Zante — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Horrid experience. Do not waste your time and money here.

My partner and i came a few days ago, thinking the restaurant looked lovely, however we had a number of issues.

1. I ordered one of the only mains without cheese on the menu, it came covered in cheese. Not only that, but the dish was described as pasta in a tomato sauce with chunks of beef. When the food came, there was one relatively small chunk of beef, hidden under a bit of pasta, and the majority of it was pure fat (not gristle; thick fat). The cheese was not to my liking, but the beef was inedible.
2. My partner ordered a vegetarian pizza, and it came out with lots of ham hidden under the cheese.
3. After picking out all the ham, he noticed that the pizza base was raw dough still. He mentioned this to a waiter and asked for it to be taken back and cooked a little more, and they said “that’s how Italian’s make pizza” and refused to take it back.
4. We tried to flag down a waitress, she looked directly at us, laughed and turned away. I thought maybe she doesn’t speak any english, so gave her the benefit of the doubt and just waited for someone else to walk past. We witnessed her do this to another table also, with them also finding it rude. 5 minutes later, we heard her telling a co worker something in perfect english, so language barrier wasn’t the issue.
5. We asked for the bill and it eventually came after a good 20 minutes, which was awful considering the restaurant had about 4 tables of people. Upon checking the bill, we realised we were given another tables bill and had to wait for the correct one.

All in all, a really unpleasant experience, please don’t waste your time...

This place a gem. The food is unreal. Hands down best Italian food I’ve tasted. We’ve had both pasta and pizza from here and it’s been beautiful each time. The service was great as well food came out dead quick and all the staff have been lovely.

Shout-out to Marco on the doors. This man is a Gem. Highlight of the business. He’s so kind, funny and a genuinely great guy, the first time he saw us, He never pressured us to go in. Just offered us to take a look at the menu and take our time. But his charm drew us in and I’m glad it did. An asset to the restaurant. I’ll miss you Marco!

You might not think to get an Italians in Greece. But this place...

Place Looks very nice however the service and the food isn’t. Starters were okay, but the meatballs were hard. For the main course my friend ordered the scalini burger and it was pink in the middle… clearly not cooked, when he complained they took the food back and brought back the same bitten into burger back to the table which had clearly just been recooked. When you wanted to get their attention you had to stand up and wave them over because their faces are too busy in their phones.
