We spent a week in Zakynthos, and the plan was to find a good place where we can eat lunch (that was not included in our hotel reservation). Parhaat ja edullisimmat pita gyrokset Kalamakissa – ehkä koko saarella – rennon rehellinen helmi Kalamakissa

MUNCHIES löytyi sattumalta, mutta osoittautui nopeasti vakipaikaksi loman aikana. Paikka on rennon kodikas ja sijaitsee pääkadun varrella, mutta ei hälyisä. Erityisesti pitagyros ansaitsee maininnan – isokokoinen, mehukas ja vain 4 € – selkeästi paras vastine rahoille koko saarella.

Listalta löytyy myös hieman erikoisempaa: esimerkiksi valtava “bubble waffle” -jälkkäri, joka on enemmän jaettavaa herkkua kuin yksittäinen annos. Kaikki tilaamani annokset olivat maistuvia ja hyvin tehtyjä. Palvelu oli mutkatonta ja ystävällistä, ilman turhaa kiireen tuntua.

Tunnelma oli leppoisa. Ravintolassa on pieni lasten nurkkaus, mikä tekee siitä perheystävällisen. Käyntimme aikana nurkissa pyöri myös pieni hylätty kissanpentu, joka lähinnä sulatti sydämet eikä häirinnyt ruokailua – lisäsi paikan charmia omalla tavallaan.

Hintataso erittäin kohtuullinen, varsinkin annoskokoon ja makuun nähden. Paikka ei ole vielä turistimassojen vallassa, joten toivottavasti säilyttää tämän aitoutensa.
