Hotel Metaxa, Kalamaki, Zakynthos — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

Absolutely ruined our whole holiday. The owner is the biggest con artist in zante. Arrived on one of latest flights out and was greeted by the owner. My partner and I have been to zante for over 7 years but hadn't been in a while due to recently having two children. So this was a surprise for my wife's 30th. When we arrived we.paid our taxes, cash only didn't take any card which is abit strange and we then asked for air conditioning. The owner replied no you have it free and also free breakfast? I was very confused as looking at the reviews, but what he said next made it clear why he has offered it as free. He said ypu won't be staying in the hotel, you'll be staying in my cousins apartments Next door ? My wife and I were totally confused but after a long day we followed him to the side of the hotel where he unlocked some gates where some abandoned apartments were , this was really strange as we walked to the apartment he couldn't find the lights and then when he manged to finally open the apartment he told us to wait outside. As I looked in He was plugging things in , he hadn't a clue and the apartments was absolutely stinking , he had obviously tried to palm us off to some abandoned apartments for some cash. My wife burst into tears , the room was disgusting, things falling apart, it hadn't been cleaned, rubbish on the floor from God knows when. Mirror hanging off the wall, mould in the kitchen. I went down and asked for a different room to which I was told there aren't any. Luckily we managed to.find alternative accommodation and literally checked out the following morning. Absolutely disgusting . Cost me and additional £300 to find other accommodation which was so lucky to find at this time of the year. Now my wife and I do look young for our age and the owner definitely thought he could push his luck thinking we were young and just let things slide. Absolutely not!!. My advice if you're reading this and you are s young couple looking forward a lovely hotel in zante., this is not it please look aswell and as I parent myself if you see that your children has booked this hotel cancel it for them honestly I would never want anyone to experience what we went through. Only decent thing the owner has done is issued a refund which rightly so. The sites suggest it's a two star hotel, which is generous in my opinion I'm surprised it's still open amount of poor reviews it's had.||And even the cheek to put us in some random apartments not part of the hotel we paid for.||Avoid at all cost. Will be returning to.zante but never to this...

I do not recommend this hotel, the owner is very unpleasant, for the smallest things he asks for money, for boiling water in the kettle because my grandmother wanted to take medicine, we wanted to boil water in the kettle, he asked for money, very unpleasant service, on the last day he did not give to eat breakfast for which we paid, he lied to us saying that he called from the hospital in which we were the day before with grandma and we asked him for directions, and he said that he was looking for us so that we would pay for the hospital, even though we had insurance and we did not even provide our data in the hospital, because even us they did not accept, he kicked us out of the hotel at 9 o'clock because he said that we would have to pay for the hospital otherwise, I do not know if it was that he needed a room faster or something, but we had to sit all day in the heat waiting for the plane, we are very disappointed I do not recommend this hotel with all my heart, it is worth paying more and not to worry about A quarrelsome owner who sits at the reception desk all day… this man spoiled...

Really nice service. They have lovely parrot named Koko ♥️ For breakfast there is few different tastes of bread, cheese, ham, cucumber, tomato, greek yogurt, peach, coffee, tea, juices. Enough for the morning! You can buy different kind of meals during the day. Our favourite were club sandwiches! Everything tastes good there and prices are good. You can also find many different ice creams and drinks. Pool area is big and so is the pool, there is small pool side for the youngest kids too. There is shower and toilets next to the pool. Hotel rooms are in good conditions, I don't remember how often they clean it per week but it was enough. You can see and hear alots of airplanes going by, its exciting I think - it can disturb someone, didn't bother me at all. I can higly recommend this hotel.
