A menudo visito a mi familia.
Large group reservations BEWARE of going to this restaurant.
I used Open Table to make a reservation 1 month in advance for a party of 20 people to celebrate a family reunion in a semi private room at 7 pm on a Saturday.
When I arrived 10 minutes before the reservation, there was no person to greet us. My elderly uncle had to go the bar to find someone to seat us. There was a lot of confusion.
Apparently the dining room was not ready to accept us. The host took us upstairs to wait for the room and ordered water. Finally after 20 minutes the table was ready.
However there were no proper menus. Everything was a QCR menu to order cocktails and food. Many of the people in the group are elderly and could not see the menu using cellphones. The waiter showed up to take orders and no one was ready and most of the guests were very confused and rushed to place an order.
More Confusion and not the best service. No one came to see if anyone wanted drinks or have appetizers. We had to flag someone to come to the table. Very disappointing service despite the food being delicious.
I do not believe the quality of service is worth the price you pay for the food. I am very familiar with restaurants in Guatemala City. I visit my family often. However I will never go back to this place again.
I strongly recommend large party reservations to go a different restaurant that assigns more servers to large parties and explain the specials of the day, introduce themselves to the table, and provide at least 2-3 paper menus for older guests!...
Read moreReally clean restaurant. Pretty neat ambiance inside too. Food was ok.
First I got the caprese salad. Not sure if you can tell, but that is an ENTIRE tomato cut in half. That's not how this is done, it's tomato SLICES.
Next I got the capellini alla carbonara. It was very salty and had way to much cream. Pasta was cooked perfectly though.
Now the service, while they were very polite and neatly dressed, following COVID protocols, they were not very attentive. I saw them 4 times. Ordering, receiving first drink, (had to flag down waiter for a second one), receiving food (which is when 2nd drink finally came out) and paying.
Pricing, I had 2 bloody Mary's, and the other two menu items I described above, for $70.50. In my opinion and mine alone it is not worth it.
I will not...
Read moreGood food, although mushroom sauce without taste (a touch of Dijon, and real cream would have been "de rigueur"). Good, but far from the refinement one would expect from such a place and price tag. I would love to spend some time with the chef to help with the details. The service was cordial, they try, but you can see no one has been trained as a maître d'hôtel. I have no clue what the Canadians (comment below) are talking about concerning so called discrimination.., most pricey places tend to treat people in a distant manner or have a dress code. This place was no worse than any other. If you want to dress sloppy or vulgar (people go out in their pyjamas/crocs nowadays), go to Mr Tacos...
