Gianni's — Restaurant in Guatemala City

I always wanted to visit Gianni's and I just had the chance to do so. Amazing experience. The food is delicious and the choices are many but I believe you will not go wrong in your choice.

I tried the salmon and the risotto. Both were delicious and also had a salad that tasted so yummy. I'm not a fan of olives but the combination with the other ingredients is fenomenal. I ended the night with a panacota which I never had before but it was so tasteful that I'm hoping to come back at least to have that.

Lastly but most important, the service is impressive and impeccable. The waiters are friendly and do their best for the guests to have the best experience. I must say that I'm grateful for their sense of empathy and the open doors attitude as they waited on me with no distinction of the other guests. I felt welcomed and treated as a human being and was not discriminated against.

Service was good, atmosphere was nice, everyone was friendly, & food was decent ( nothing to write home about but you can’t beat the all you can eat deal) So why the one star? Well they got my order wrong, after I mentioned before ordering it would be a dietary restriction. Had the waiter check on it before getting the food, after eating it & again confirming as I’m finishing the last bite. Despite this, he says sorry yes it is (after reassuring me 3 times) & the chef made a mistake. He was polite & brought a new plate but bro, I could’ve died. There’s religious reasons, allergy reason & picky eater reasons to forgo items on a menu & it is with trusted thought that I order the dish with reassurance. I felt Gianni’s did not give me that trust in my food today. I won’t tell others not to come just because I had a bad experience but I can’t recommend those with allergies or other dietary restrictions come here...

We spent an entire week in Guatemala. This restaurant was in our hotel the whole time, but we didn't eat here until the final night. All I can say is Wow!!! The service was better than any other restaurant, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was AMAZING! Christopher, Roberto, and William were the best servers we have ever had! Just amazing people and a joy to be around. Who would have thought that the best Italian food on this side of the ocean would be in Guatemala!!! The restaurant might seem empty, but trust me this is a hidden gem that you should not miss. It is in the Westin Camino Real.
