Flavour/taste is delicious. They use the right spices. The food really is great and what it should be. The waiter was nice and helpful.
Picture 1 shows my meal (lamb and sauce lol). Picture 2 shows my wife's meal (the yummy spinach with cheese and chickpeas balls with pineapple chutney).
However, the issue is that the price of my lamb and sauce is 19 USD (25 CAD - 150 GTQ) for a small plate of lamb with a sauce, with no rice. Rice is about 5 extra USD (7 CAD - 40 GTQ). So, total would have been 25 USD (32 CAD). In Canada, it's 15 CAD (12 USD) for more food (including lamb) and rice included.
I wouldn't have minded paying at all if it included rice and more lamb and more food in general. It really is a small meal for that price.
I did not know that it would not include rice. The sauce and lamb is all I received. The waiter was trying to upsell the rice but I thought he was telling me of another type of rice as an upgrade. I had no idea until we got home (we ordered it to go). We had to make rice before eating.
The naan bread had a good flavour but it was a little bit hard and "elastic" (as in stretchy hard, if that makes sense). The one in Canada was softer. I know they can improve it though. I enjoyed it by dipping it in the sauce.
Just in case the staff says that lamb is expensive, the Angus meat version of a similar dish was higher at 22 USD (27 CAD) and other dishes as well. Additionally, there's another Mediterranean restaurant near it and their lamb Gyro was 8.50 USD (10.8 CAD) and it actually came with a good amount of BBQ'ed vegetables on the side.
With that said, you will enjoy the delicious Indian spices and flavour. It really is delicious.

Read moreMy boyfriend and I came here after visiting the zoo on a Thursday at around 3-4pm. It was just opening so it was nice to have an empty atmosphere and the restaurant is beautifully decorated! The waitress was super nice. We ordered chicken biryani, chicken tikka and samosa chaat. The samosa chaat was 10/10 but the other two dishes I wish were a little more flavorful. I am Bangladeshi so we eat Indian food all the time and at the beginning the waitress mentioned that the sauce for biryani wasn't available so they might not be able to make it but then talked to the chef and he cooked it for us from scratch. Unfortunately it was only a 7.5/10 because the biryani rice was a little watery and mushy and the chicken porpotion was very small. The chicken tikka was flavorful but not too spicy. Although she did give us a side of their homemade spicy sauce and that was so delicious that we ended up buying a jar of it. The owners came into the restaurant and were super friendly and even gave us cute little worry dolls as well as a guide for Guatemala. I would definitely come back here just because the vibe and the staff was...
Read moreAfter a week of enjoying local Guatemalan food, I was craving some Indian flavors and decided to try Tikka Masala in Guatemala City. I have to say, this might be some of the best Indian food I’ve had in all of North America! Every dish was spot on— from the comforting dal tadka to the rich paneer dishes, everything was full of authentic flavor. The veggie pakoras were especially outstanding, easily some of the best I’ve ever tried.
What really stood out, beyond the food, was the hospitality. The owner and staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Everything is cooked from scratch with care, and you can truly taste it in each bite. To top it all off, the owner even surprised us with local Guatemalan gifts and a warm cup of masala chai—such a thoughtful gesture that made the experience unforgettable.
Overall, this was the perfect highlight to end my Guatemala trip. A must-visit if you’re in Guatemala City and craving truly excellent...
