Visited for a Saturday night with my wife and close to 2 year old son for an early dinner. I have to say never have I felt so unwelcome with children as this restaurant, hence I would think twice before visiting as a family. There were at least 3 waiters mainly staring at at us and the head waiter in particular looked very unwelcoming.
The food was ok, we had scallops to start with which were fine but a bit under spiced and the portion massive with what was referred to as pancetta but looked more like bacon to me. We ordered a child portion of chicken nuggets and chips for our son but the portion was suitable for a grown man, talk about food waste. We had the seafood platter as a main which brought the experience up however overall the unwelcome feeling was really painful for us and brought the experience down. As desert my wife ordered chocolate fondant which was dry and without the customary running inside…
I think Michelin who recommends this restaurant might want to have a second look as a large part of this guidance is based not only on the food but how guests are treated. Two waiters were attempting to take our plates while we were still eating as an example, I think the international code of how the cutlery is placed should be enough and a good waiter should rarely even have to ask, very basic stuff.

Read moreMy fiancée and I were there tonight as my preseny for his birthday. First to say is that the service is excellent ane very friendly. The starters were quite good. He had tuna tartar, which he liked buy basically tasted more of coriander than of tuna. My platter of salmon was good, the salmon quality was great, just a shame that there was more salad than salmon. For main plates, he had Sea Bass with chorizo, really well cooked and nice, he found the sause weird but I think it had a good point. My Brill though was really sad for a "good fish restaurant". It was fried (which is not breaded fried) but had been in a pan with oil and fried, and that's what it tasted of, not Brill. Desserts were good (definitely better than the fish). Wine was expensive based on how much you would pay for the same bottle in Spain. What actually put me off was the cheff coming at the end and asking what it was. Yo which we answered it was quite good. However, when I said it was " a bit disappointing my fish was fried", he tried to convince me the fish was not fried. I may not know what are some delicatessen. But I tell you I know what's fried fish. I've eaten that before, and for 10 times less money. Unfortunately they know they may be the best restaurant in St...
Read moreWe eat here regularly (mainly for my birthday and other special occasssions) the food and service is always A*. I personally have never eaten anywhere with service as consistent or personal as le nautique.
I also always order a starter that is no longer offered on the menu. This is never any trouble and arrives exactly how it used to. Nothing is too much trouble for this establishment.
The chef/owmer coming out at the end of a meal to ensure your meal was enjoyed too is an additional touch you rarely recieve nowadays.
If I could give le nautique more than 5 stars I would, because the sheer service and food you receive, far exceeds this.
Our absolute favourite restaurant to eat at, and will continue to be for a long...
