Amore di Napoli — Restaurant in Budapest

Let's start by saying the service concept of the place is weird as hell: you order at the cash box, they will bring you the drinks but then, when you dine in, you have to pick up your pizza yourself cause there is no server doing so, well that's not a problem, but for sure makes the place not welcoming and organized. They have those plastic type menus reminding you of a kebab place or a fast food, only one type of beer on the menu.I am from Napoli, I'm not the kind of guy expecting pizza like in Napoli abroad and one common problem in Budapest is the dough,.the dough should be always made with a pre-dough or sourdough and unfortunately this place seems not to be using it neither like a lot of other places here, good notes are the tomato and the mozzarella, above this market average,but the pizza dough is heavy and chewy like a piece of bread, cooked properly on a border slice and raw on another. Good overall for Budapest, but nothing special. Prices are fair...

I am Neapolitan and usually do not eat pizza abroad. But this usually crowded place (with an outside seating area as well) made me curious. So I "inspected" the pizzeria and saw: an original wood oven, the fior di latte mozzarella (as regular topping) on the menu, and the prices were absolutely reasonable. I decided to order a takeaway pizza and trust me, it was one of the best pizza that I have ever eaten (including in Naples). I am not exaggerating: the dough was light, the pizza cooked to perfection and it tasted delicious, it tasted like home. An expert Pizzaiolo and high quality ingredients are the secret of this place, I would definitely recommend it. Sempre...

Not sure what the hype is all about. We had Wolt delivery and found the pizza to be above average but sorry to say, not 4.8/5 because it was kind of ... bland... the weak part was the sauce... or lack of and what's there was ... tasteless.. (so this had nothing to do with a "delivered" pizza being lacking). Still for us, Manu+ in Astoria is still the best pizza in Bp. And the price... eeks... Just because they add some truffle oil does not justify the price but I do agree, some of the toppings are nice but 5,000FT for a pie... not so sure about...
