Hummusbar — Restaurant in Budapest

Edit: Just so you know I went back 2 times since then and some of my friends tried it too. No change. Staff is still the exact same. Rude and disrespectful. The food quality changes all the time from bad to worse.

I went to the hummusbar today to buy a shawarma and asked what people usually get as a side dish with this. The guy behind the counter told me fried potatoes. I didn't really get it, asked him several times if he is sure it is a good side dish for shawarma, but he insisted that fried potatoes go well with shawarma.

I pay for my food... 990 for the shawarma + 790 for fried potatoes?! I guess these must be epic potatoes with some sauce to dip in. Otherwise why would the price be so ridicolous?

I arrive with my take-away back in the office, open my lunchbox... and check out the attached image.

These potatoes ((for 790!!)) look a week old!

They were cold (even though I walked like 5 mins). No sauce of course. The whole thing simply disgusting.

Guess they just wanted to get rid of them.

I would have made this a 3-4 star review if I was only rating the shawarma, but this bullsh*t made me really angry.

Good job for not respecting your customers and selling...

Worst service in Budapest!

When I came inside was greeted reluctantly and they pointed out to fridge when asked about drink. No guidance whatsoever when I asked which drink is good.

The guy and woman in the restaurant were talking with each other, and after I paid I noticed that there was a discount and it was just seconds after I paid I had asked them for the discount of 1000 HUF for drink and snack (as I already bought the same drink for 900 HUF), and told them that I just paid can you add this on to my bill. They were rude and said no and to order another drink and snack if I wanted discount and chuckled behind the counter. In principle, they should have intimated me about the discount or should have happily added it.

Had to go to the counter to order, pick up my drinks and also the glasses to drink icetea with.

Worst of all - I ordered a falafel hummus platter and was told will get 1 bread, had ordered 2 extra bread and when it came there were only 2 breads. Had to ask for one more.

They are ok with charging you extra and not providing it upfront but not ok with giving discount just after I paid...

The person at the counter was unfortunately quite rude I had some pain and I needed warm tea but the person at the counter refused to provide mint tea mentioned in the menu and he said no it is too hot outside we don’t make hot tea take this cold tea instead and gave us cold tea.. we didn’t want to argue because he spoke in an aggressive way.. then we asked for flafel plate with hummus and fries, he brought flafel and hummus with salade without fries.. so I asked in a nice way “excuse me we asked for fries as a side not for salade” but he replied in a very rude way “NO you asked for salade but fine I can bring you fries” he didn’t say something rude but his tone and attitude were unfortunately aggressive After a long while he brought fries that were all super small burned pieces of fries… we didn’t want to engage in more arguments bc it is just about fries and hummus.. we don’t need to fight.. but unfortunately his attitude was agressive and rude and left us not feeling so comfortable and not wishing to go back again to eat..
