Museum of Sweets and Selfies No.1: Orgin — Attraction in Budapest

The staff in the selfie museum is absolutely unfriendly and not helpful at all. The first time we went there we have been sent away so unfriendly because they would close in 20 minutes (no information on the homepage), so we informed us if on the next day they have regualry opening hours as written on the homepage. The next day they informed us again they will close in about 30 minutes and we need to go through fast, after we bought the tickets the girl said we have only 20 minutes. They already vacuumed the museum so it was not fine doing pictures with the cable of the vacuumer in the back and the noise of the cleaning. And then without any note they just turned off the light and were forced to go. We luckily baught a combination ticket for the other selfie museum and went there then. There we have been welcomed so nicely and friendly the girl on the reception was so extremely nice and showed us around was totally helpful. The most important thing is that this place is not a "Museum". It is better to be named as "Photo/Selfie Studio". There are no exhibits inside, so don't be fooled by its name.

Price: The price for an adult ticket is 3000 HUF, which is understandable if you want to find an peculiar background for selfies. But it is too much for a tourist.

Size: There are around 10 rooms with different interiors to take selfies. If you are a tourist, you may finish the visit in 10 minutes, but it can take an hour if you are a selfie lover.

Staff and Utilities: The staffs were kind and friendly. Unfortunately, the credit card machine was not working during my visit, and the staff didn't know where the ATM machine is.

The good news was one staff let me in without the ticket since they would close in 30 mins. Thank you very much! I did appreciate that because I could come tomorrow with cash. I later found out the ATM machine was just 30 meters left of the museum😄(the staffs should not be...

I went to this venue on a Thursday. I agree with the comments of other reviews, it is not a ‘Museum’ as such, however I already knew this from the small amount of prior research I had done!

I had so much fun! I went here as a solo traveller and LOVED it. I will say - there could be improvements in the set up to support solo travellers to take quality photos. As a selfie museum you’d think they would master this. Let’s just say - it’s hard to take a selfie of yourself on a banana swing. Small stands affixed in these areas to prop up cameras / phones would make all the difference!

Also, unfortunately the staff working there weren’t all that helpful/ friendly. They were more invested in their conversation than helping, greeting and serving their customers. I found it to be quite rude.
