Jimmy'Z Vegan — Restaurant in Budapest

On this rainy day, the gang of youth rejoiced as they happened upon a shining star in darkest Budapest. This star, shaped like a small restaurant, was one of the few truly vegan friendly places they had found on their travels. The gang of youth was greeted by the cooking hostess, a hard working friendly woman who was, in style with the place itself, alone. The gang of youth looked upon the menu and after a minor squable decided on their feast. And it was, to their heart's content, delicious. The day darkened as evening fell and the golden sun hid away behind the Palace. The gang of youth, replenished as they now were, said goodbye to the friendliest hostess and made their way into an ever blackening sky.

I would hands down give this restaurant even more than 5 stars if I could. The staff spoke English well and served us hospitably. The packaging is entirely recyclable and environmentally friendly. Even the water is put in a paper container. About the food. The food is just amazing. I got the bbq sandwich and my mom got the classic burger with the sweet potato fries. I couldn’t recommend it enough. The only thing that wasn’t exactly to my liking was the Oreo milkshake that wasn’t very creamy but that is only my personal preference. Egy bécsi és egy classic burgert ettünk.

A bécsi burger (a képen is látható módon) kétszer kb. 1-1 ujjnyi vastag mustár réteget kapott. Nincs bajom a mustárral, de ennyi mustárt egy hamburgerben szerintem még sosem láttam. Ez nagyon elvitte az ízvilágot, mást sajnos nem is éreztem a hamburgerből.

A classic burgerben nem találtuk a vegán sajtot, pedig kerestük.

Az ételek készítése során mikró zúgását hallottuk a konyhából, az álmoskönyv szerint egy étteremben ez nem jelent jót.

Később betért még két ember, a jalapenora vonatkozó kérdés alapján ők pulledshroom burgert ehettek. Az ő burgereik kimondottan jól néztek ki. Ha újból betérni támadna kedvem ide, szerintem ezt próbálnám ki (jalapeno nélkül).

A helyiség kicsi, de ízlésesen berendezett. Egy falra szerelt kis hősugárzó próbálta szolgáltatni a meleget (tél van), nem túl nagy sikerrel. Az igyekezetet értékelem, illetve tisztában vagyok az energiaárakkal is, de muszáj megjegyezni ezt, hogy akik jönnek, tudják, mire készüljenek.

Láthatóan (műszakonként) egy munkavállaló próbálja fenntartani a házhoz szállításokat és a helyi fogyasztást is. Nekem úgy tűnt, hogy ő szabályosan meglepődött azon, hogy vannak vendégek, akik betérnek ide enni. Egyébként a lehetőségeihez mérten a szakács/pincér/mindenes teljesen rendben volt.

Próbáltunk már más vegán gyorséttermet is, ott hasonló árak mellett jobb tapasztalatokat szereztünk.

Az plusz pont, hogy ezen a turisztikai szempontból kieső környéken egy vegán gyorsétterem próbálja megvetni a lábát, de gondolom inkább a házhoz szállítás lehet a fő fókusz.
