Prepare to be incredibly disappointed;
Wasabi actual quotes: Pictures are "just illustrations", food quality is determined by "weight".
Waited 1.5 hours for the food. Thought "at least it'll be good" - paying 18000huf for 2 dishes and some spicy potatoes should at least land me a decent meal. It didn't. Our two dishes, even though they were made up of entirely different ingredients looked the same. Boring and nothing like the "illustrations" on the Wolt page. My wife, being Korean, myself having lived in China, Korea and spent lots of time in Japan, thought we knew Asian food. But this was new. What was it? Japanese? Should be! But nothing was recognisably Japanese in appearance or taste. Could it be Korean? Also no, such food would be treasonous according to my wife. Last bid; Chinese? Big no! Having lived in China for 6 years I at least know that Chinese food isn't bland. Like it or not, it has taste and texture. Our dishes didn't.
My conclusion; WASABI hired a great "illustrator" (most likely a chef with actual knowledge of Asian cuisine) uploaded his snapshots to Wolt, told their staff the exact weight and ingredients of the dishes and said "素晴らしい"! Disregarding taste, texture, tradition, aesthetics and quality of the original in the hopes that the masses of Budapest wouldn't notice.
Well, WASABI, you've been noticed! Your "food" is worse than airplane food and weight doesn't equal quality.
For anyone ever considering eating at this restaurant my only advice is this; lower your expectations to the absolute lowest possible and then still prepare yourself to be...

We loved the running as we got a tablet with an app where we could get ingredients info and could order our loved dishes on the running easily. It was fun.
Now we visited on my wife's birthday.
There was a clear quality decrease in terms of service and food, while the prices skyrocketed.
It was told, right on the spot, that tablet batteries are dead/ need to be recharged.
Thus, no tablets are available.
Hope the challenge of replacing and charging the batteries of these tablets can be easily overcame for our next time visiting Wasabi.
There might be a solution of creating an app or modifying existing applications used on the dead tablets, so everyone can download on there phone and with a private password, shared on site, can easily connect to the local running and check, order dishes on the running.
Waiters were clearly overburdened, took several minutes of taking our first drink orders, and even more time to deliver it. It caused some uncovenience as we tasted some dishes for the first time, which turned out to be spicy as hack. Some freshening drink would have been useful.
Unfortunately, we also found some dishes that's freshness were heavily questioned based on their look and smell. Raised our food quality concerns to the stuff, told to be no issue.
We still love this place and are planning the visit soon in the future. Hope they can fix these...
Read moreFood is okay, but service is slow even when not busy (but the waiters are super kind) The music is not atmospheric at all, and sometimes the songs are just monotone and loud (my guess is that they want to avoid copyright problems and swearing/controversial words, some of the all you can eat places in the Netherlands also play monotone music like that to avoid conflicts with customers) Either way, it starts to annoy you when you hear the same cringy beat for over 2 minutes 😅 Prices are SUPER HIGH (25.000 for two persons WITH a 50% birthday discount) .. it's just too expensive (a beer is 1900 forints which is just ridiculous, i have never ever paid that much for one beer ony any festivals or in any restaraunts in my whole life) The food you eat there is nothing extra - really small portions with a LOT of rice (so you eat yourself full cheaper for the sake of the restaraunt) . Yes, you can order on the tablet, but the delay from the moment of ordering till the running line reaching your table can be 10 minutes (for 1 small slice of fish) 😞 The same food can be bought in literally any other sushi place in Budapest for like 30-40% less money with much more ingredients It's okay to go there when you have a lot of money to spend on rice, but if you rarely go out and you think that you will have a truly amazing experience - this place...
