Beer And Wurst (B&W) — Restaurant in Debreceni járás

We have been here several times as we visit from London to Debrecen to see family, usually stay at the hotel close by. Our most recent visit was unfortunately the worst , we’d been out in Budapest for business and came back to Debrecen and fancied a steak there, as they are usually fab especially the t bone or chateaubriand! We were there a tad later and my husband asked if food was being served we were told yes, took our table ordered drinks , palinka beer etc, after looking at the menu we knew steak was what we fancied. We waited 20 minutes no one took our order and yes we could have asked someone to take it but surely the waiter would know ? He knew we were eating etc , nothing was asked and after half an hour we decided to get the bill and leave, manager came over we explained and he said drinks are on the house which we refused and paid for, it’s not the money , it’s the dreadful service or lack of that we were disappointed with. Shame because I doubt we will return here to eat and just go to other restaurants , this was always convenient from mecure hotel but hey ho we won’t recommend this to our business partners from this poor...

Having attended a 30th birthday party where the final bill came to over 1,100,000 HUF with a 15% service charge I was disgusted with the attitude of the staff regarding this charge and that attitude that came with it. Having tried to pay for my drinks earlier on the evening and was told that’s not possible ( who I might ask) I was informed the bill would be at the end, but my Hungarian colleagues were allowed to, I can only assume that as a English man this establishment extorts foreigners, overcharges and adds drinks to all the final bill. The attitude was disgusting the service was bad and not pleasant the young man bringing drinks couldn’t even raise a smile. I will never provide this establishment with my money or my company ever again. You should be ashamed at the treatment of this celebration birthday event which in my option you ruined. Dont go there, do t order from there. The sooner this place is closed down the sooner we can get a better venue in its place. If it can’t be closed seriously consider your choice of staff, I would t let them clean the streets and that’s being horrible to...

There is not enough words to tell you how much I love this place. If you want to eat the best steak in town you have to come here. The beer, whiskey and rum selection is next level. Not many places have my favourite whisky, Lagavulin. The place itself has a vibe that is very original. Mix it with the wonderful staff and food and drinks and you get one of the best places in Debrecen. They have seasonal events as well. If you wish to have a good drink with friends, have a romantic dinner with your significan other, you are in love with German and Hungaryan style food, you want to oragnize family or work events, or just want to watch football in a unique place, then you found the place and go no further.
