Bonita Bistro — Restaurant in Debreceni járás

It is said to be one of the best places to eat in Debrecen; it is also very full (we were there during the summer months), so it is recommended to book your table before unless you don’t mind just waiting around until a table becomes available. The toilet is clean. We’ve been there twice, once the staff was not so friendly but the following day we’ve had a kind waitress. The negative thing I’d have to address from our experience is that our dishes arrived after one another with such delay. On both occasions one of us have nearly finished their meal by the time the other got their meal and once we even had to go back to the counter and ask if they took our order at all. (You’ve got to pay and order at the counter) The plain lemonade did not taste good, was very tasteless and the elderflower lemonade was way too sweet. The margarita pizza was a nice and big portion and fairly tasty although I missed the usual basil leaves other Italian restaurants would put on top. We also had pasta a couple times and it was not served with cheese at all which was also unusual compare to other places. Guy that took my order was weird to me. Some attitude and was making me out to be problematic for asking questions that are well within my rights. I just wanted to know the price of all the food but he was just being difficult and quite disrespectful about it. When I was leaving, turned out I was charged for something I didn't eat. I had expressed desire for a dessert at the beginning but this same waiter/cashier said I had to order it at the end of my meal and after eating, I decided that I didn't want it anymore. When I went to pay, he didn't even ask me about still wanting it and i obviously didn’t come back for it yet he charged me for it and if my friend hadn't read through the receipt I would've never known. When she did remind me and I told him I didn't want my dessert anymore he told me it was non-refundable and I decided to choose a different dessert in the same price range and I took it to go. He was just being sketchy and difficult for no reason and making me feel like I was being a disturbance for asking for what I needed. Ew quite frankly. Terrible restaurant! W ate there some years ago and it was awful. Today we decided we will give another try. Same bad experience indeed. The food was simply awful. Spicy pork with mediterranean vegetables supposed to be the first one. Meat was hard and dry, absolutly no taste, no spice at all. Vegetables had no herbs or spices, only a very bad greesy taste. My husband ate Farfalle with salmon in sauce...that was a bit better but over salted. Obviously the cook didnt realize that the smoked salmon is already salted and he put more salt on the dish. The service is very bad too. Many so called waitresses chatting all over and they dont know if two people are eating at one table they suppose to serve the meals to them at the same time! I almost finished my pork and my husband still didnt receive his meal! We had to ask where is the meal to be able to receive it at last. I dont recommend it to anybody and obviously we will never eat there anymore.
