Flippin' Amazing Place!

So.....I just kinda stumbled over that place. I was giving my mom a ride to get to the dentist in Györ and got hungry so we went to grab a bite to eat and i looked over a few places on Google.

I saw this restaurant and thought "oh well...it doesn't look that touristy, let's give it a shot. After almost not finding it (I think that in the winter it's not fully opened, but ofc i'm too stupid to ask) the owner(?) waved us into what seemed like a side entrance. Down into the cellar as if you're getting into someones home and then there is the most delightful arched ceiling, cosy red velvet chairs on massive black tables and a jug of water and glasses on every table.

That's the first plus in my book.

The waitress spoke english, the waiter english and german (i couldn't speak a little bit hungarian to save my life, sorry for that!)...and i ordered blindly off the daily menu.

I got a mushroom soup with popcorn, main course was chicken on rice with a salad and ordered some dessert extra.

Everything was DELICIOUS, tastet as if i was just visiting a friend who's mom is cooking and asks me if i wanted a plate as well, and the service was attentive, polite and very welcoming.

I couldn't have been happier with the place we picked for lunch and i'll certainly come again if i ever get back to Györ.

Review number 1582. If you're passing through Györ this restaurant is a must stop. If you're a resident here and haven't eaten here yet then you don't know what you're missing. Ambience and decor, quality of excellence in service and exquisite, tasty food are the basis for a perfect place to eat away from home. Komedias, has all three down to perfection. I say this after 4 first class visits. Not just one. The old wine cellar style ambience is conducing for a romantic and quiet atmosphere and a comfortable encounter with pure dining pleasure. All staff members have been attentive, cordial and helpful and obviously love their job. On top of that, each meal has been with a home cooked flavour and have set the taste buds to maximum pleasure. We recently enjoyed a delightful lunch with a friend, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. The service was exceptional—the staff were not only friendly and welcoming but also attentive throughout, ensuring that we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The lively atmosphere added to the charm of the visit, creating a setting that felt both local and authentic.

The food itself was a highlight. The set menu offered a wide variety of appealing choices, each thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection, reflecting both skill and attention to detail in the kitchen.
