Dalmát Szamár Bistro — Restaurant in Szentendrei járás

We had lunch there on June 6th. The place is super cute. They have a simple selection of food and lunch specials. When we arrived there was one waiter and 4 tables. He seemed overwhelmed but smiled and was polite. We ordered our meals, an appy, and I ordered a virgin cocktail. We had desert and I also had an espresso after our meal. All our dishes / drinks were good.

We were in no rush, so we waited for 20 minutes before my wife very gently and politely reminded the waiter of our cocktail. We waited until he was not busy, after he had made drinks for other tables that had arrived after us, to remind him.

His pleasant smile dissapeared and he rudely and sternly responded, "I will bring it when it's ready." instead of "I'm sorry, I forgot, I'll make it as soon as I can". His response also made it sound like that it was being made by someone else, perhaps it was made in the kitchen. Then we watched him make the cocktail at the bar and bring it to us.

Unfortunately his attitude put a negative & uncomfortable vibe on our experience. If it was not for the heavy rain outside, we would have left. When I went to pay the bill, I asked if service was included. His response was "yes", but it was a very small service charge. We also witnessed another customer politely asking him as well "you didn't forget about coffees did you?"

To be clear, it wasn't the fact that he forgot about my drink that was upsetting. We all make mistakes. It was his extremely rude reaction that assured us that we will not come back. A simple "Apologies, I forgot, I will fix it" would have would have been a positive experience for us, and your...

We had a bit weird experience at this Bistro yesterday... First of all: I had a very bad stomach pain all night and morning. You need to be much more careful with ingredients, they need to be fresh, otherwise you will food poison another guest of yours.... Secondly when we sat down we realized the table was really dirty, I asked the waiter to clean it, he apoligised and cleaned it. We ordered two hot teas, and two main courses. The teacups were dirty, the food came quite quickly but portion was not really big. My side dish-mashed potato was really sour, I even asked the waiter to ask the the chef if they used yogurt of kefir to make it, she came back saying "no, only butter and milk", I advised her in that case one of the ingredients went bad, because milk butter and potato should not taste super sour. If we'll be back?...

The atmosphere is nice, but I don't recommend it very much. Look at this simple spaghetti, which I ordered. Grilled shrimps, a little bit of sliced tomato, bacon, onion, and lemon. How long do you think I waited for that? About AN HOUR! When I was there, it wasn't so busy though. And the spaghetti was soft(boiled too much), creamy but also oily. I think I can cook better than them...lol

The other ladies ordered sandwiches for take out, and they waited for over 40 mins as well...

--reply to reply Okay, I understand the situation. However, the guy who entered the restaurant and ordered later than me(about 15 mins?) was served meals much quicker than me. And he left before my meals came.

Also, the guys group (they came and ordered about 30 mins later than me) was served the same...
