Great restaurant! Quite expensive but actually average for Icelandic standards 🥲. We ordered an arctic special wok and the baked fish, in addition to 8x damplings as starters and desserts. The damplings were great (quite crunchy and i was not expecting that, but great) and I found the baked fish (in my case, salmon) to be really well-made and delicious. However, I found the dish a bit basic (just fish and fries on the side) so I’ll probably order something different next time. However, this was totally on me, and the dish was still amazing. The food lacked flavour: the sushi rice was particularly bad - it tasted not fresh, the fish to rice ratio was not great and the actual portions were quite small (especially given the price). We had gotten takeout and didn’t want to go back to share our feedback. I see this is a new venture so I’d encourage the owners to look at their menu (focus on the fish, making sure the sushi rice is fresh). The server was quite nice and we had a great conversation while waiting for our food, I wanted to Iike this place but unfortunately regretted our choice. A very nice little restaurant, looks new, minimalist design, cosy and quiet. The staff were absolutely fab, great service, unfortunately the food was not to my taste. The sushi is not what sushi is supposed to taste like, you can say it is their own style, but sorry not my taste. We also ordered food from their hot meals section, the "chicken breast" was like chicken Katsu Curry except the sauce wasn't curry, not sure how to describe it, tasted a bit weird but edible. The Arctic char on the other hand wasn't too bad.
