Unfortunately our experience here wasn't our favorite. All of our food lacked flavor and for the price point, it just simply wasn't worth the try. When titles such as "former national culinary team member" is used, expectations tend to go up. We were expecting flavor bombs for our last meal in Iceland, but it came up short. We got steamed buns, crispy chicken, edamame, cauliflower, and mixed salad. The steamed buns from the main course section are not traditional steamed buns and had I known that, I probably would have skipped them- although that was on me for not digging deeper into the online reviews to see that. 2 of the 3 buns lacked any flavor- the pork one had the most flavor and that was from the sauce served on top of it. Crispy chicken was perfectly crisp with the sauce, but the chicken was bland. Edamame had potential, but since it was a butter sauce, all the flavor was sitting in the bottom of the bowl. When you finally got to the butter that was all you could taste due to the butter not being infused with the ginger and chili, leaving the dish to be bland. Cauliflower was missing flavor, we craved for even a little bit of salt at minimum to enhance any potential flavor in the red pepper sauce. Mixed salad was good, but it was dry, it needed more tomato salsa on there to help dress the greens a bit since there wasn't any dressing. After reading many other reviews, it looks like many people complained or dishes being too salty, but now there just isnt any st which leaves dishes falling flat of flavor. I guesa the balance may be missing somewhere. The espresso martini was delicious, house red was tasty and we loved the white ale on tap. Our server was pleasant, but there were only 2 of them running the whole floor and it was obviously stressful resulting in the environment feeling tense and not so desirable. All in all, we would not return to this spot as the prices do not reflect the food. But this is definitely the spot to come to sit at the bar and enjoy an espresso martini with some sweets!

Woah, what a find! Visiting from TX…hotel we are staying at recommended this place. No reservation at 730pm on a Sunday and we were seated right away. Started off with the flatbread and hummus, it was perfect! I had the steamed bun - chicken and it was great! I had the appetizer portion which looked small but was plenty. My daughter had the crispy chicken appetizer (chicken tenders) and she gave it 5 stars…pretty good considering that is all she eats from any place we go. First 5 star chicken since we’ve been in Iceland. Friendly waitress. Prices were fine. Would recommend!

This is a delightful, extremely popular place, and it was easy to understand why! The menu reflects care and creativity, and the food that came to the table was delicious. We sat at a table outside, and our food kept drawing admiring looks from passersby. The Einstock white ales were good and cold, and the chicken burger and fried potatoes were scrumptious! We also got a fabulous sweet potato topped with pumpkin seeds and yogurt sauce tasting of Indian spices. It is also conveniently located right across the street from one of the big hotels, if you are staying there.

Food was decent, not bad at all but the streamed buns could’ve used a dipping sauce and the side salad was pretty small. Unfortunately the high prices take away from the experience. The food itself could’ve gotten 5 stars if it hadn’t been 3500 IKR for one dish, but Iceland can be pretty expensive. The ambiance was a little weird as well. One of the waiters seemed a little annoyed. Not a bad place to eat, but the other cafes may be better options for lunch.

When we walked in, the staff were very welcome and spoke great English. The menu has very good choice. The food was exceptional, with the highlight being the 350g Ribeye steak accompanied by the Buttered Mushrooms. The service was speedy, and the food layout was also well represented, and had an artisan medium. The value (given the quality of the food) is amazing. Iwould definitely recommend to anybody in the Area looking for a quiet meal 😊
