I feel compelled to share my experience at Tycoon Restaurant, Visakhapatnam, which was not just disappointing, but absolutely shocking—especially from a place that carries such a renowned reputation in the city.
This was my first visit, and we came with great expectations. Unfortunately, the entire experience—from food quality to service—was deeply underwhelming and unacceptable.
We started with Chicken Manchow Soup, which lacked any real flavor and was far from appetizing. Next, we ordered three starters:
Ajwain Fish Tikka – The fish was dry, stale, and clearly not fresh.
Chilli Chicken – The chicken was tough and not tender at all.
Prawn Starter – This was somewhat okay, but excessively spicy and not balanced.
Shockingly, all items were brought to the table at once, including the soup and all starters. It created an overwhelming mess, leaving us unable to enjoy any dish properly. This is not how food should be served in any decent restaurant, let alone one that claims to be among the best.
Then came the Chicken Fry Biryani. Let me be clear—this was the worst biryani I have ever had. The chicken pieces were dry, blackened, and tasted like leftovers from previous days. The rice lacked any flavor or aroma typical of a good biryani. It was hard to believe this dish came from a reputed establishment.
The most disturbing part—5 out of 15 members from our group fell ill with symptoms of food poisoning the very next day. This clearly reflects the poor hygiene and extremely questionable quality of ingredients being used.
If I were to rank the worst restaurants I’ve visited in my life, Tycoon would be at the top of the list. This experience was not just bad—it was unsafe.
A place with such a name and legacy should hold itself to much higher standards. Serving stale food, poor hospitality, and putting customers’ health at risk is inexcusable.
We regret choosing Tycoon for our family dinner, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this place. It’s better to stay hungry than risk your health with such carelessly prepared food.
Disappointed beyond words.
I am awaiting for a proper response...
Read more😠😠😠 "LOOTING CUSTOMERS WITH ILLEGAL PRICING, EXTREMELY RUDE BEHAVIOR OF STAFF @TYCOON, VISAKHAPATNAM" 😡😡😡 I wish to bring to the attention of fellow consumers regarding the horrible customer service, unethical and illegal pricing at Tycoon hotel, Siripuram, Visakhapatnam.
The management staff of TYCOON behaved extremely rudely towards me and my father when I questioned illegal charges on the bill on water bottles. They served us Rs 20/- Bailley one litre water bottles and charged Rs 35 + 5% GST for a water bottle I.e. Rs. 16.75 more than MRP. When I enquired about the reason behind those charges they showed me a legal document(WP(C)6517/03 & WP(C) #14691-16927/05) of New Delhi state which allowed to fix their own charges for mineral water in 5 star hotels in New Delhi Region only. However, nobody has the right to sell any goods, manufactured by other companies, at the price more than MRP. It may be noted that Tycoon Restaurant is neither a 5-star hotel (Tycoon collecting GST @5%, for 5-star hotel GST is 28%) nor in New Delhi region. So, I pointed out the same and they cannot loot customers in the name of unreasonable charges. Then, their behaviour became aggressive & the same is recorded for the sake of evidence purpose.
CONSUMERS WAKE UP!!!!!! NOBODY CAN LOOT OUR HARD EARNED MONEY JUST LIKE THAT.!!!!!TYCOON IS EXPLOITING THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!LET US TEACH THEM A LESSON SO THAT THEY CORRECT THEIR IMPROPER BUSINESS...
Read moreI went for lunch at this place with my colleague. From outside you can see two restaurants - Tycoon and Heritage. Tycoon is the Non-vegetarian Multi-Cuisine, while Heritage is Pure Vegetarian. As soon as we entered through the main door, we understood that this is an upscaled restaurant. The ambiance was beautiful. The pictures on the walls are actual art pieces and not some printed stuff. The restaurant has a good vibe. It's purposely dim-lighted to bring the old times/European vibe. The chairs were wood and cushioned which made the sitting comfortable. We ordered one egg biryani and one paneer butter masala. The egg biryani was not the best. However l, I don't consider any biryani without meat a biryani except for Bengali Egg Biryani. The Paneer Butter Masala was sweeter than expected. The food was okay. But the best part was the waiter. They were really nice. So were the managers taking orders. It's surprising that in India, untrained waiters and managers perform so well in contrast to what the West offers. Lastly, I think that every restaurant must follow these etiquettes. Also, the plus is the free pans(betel) at the desk in the entrance/exit. The pans were very good quality, much better than ones we can...
