The Bean Journal located at the hub of guwahati city right opposite to ugratara temple , lamb Road Ambari is a beautifully made European style teamed journaled concept cafe serving the food lovers some Mediterranean cuisines... Now being a food blogger I have always loved visiting new places and also letting people know about the new joints of Guwahati so with that I was wanting to visit this place and finally yesterday I ended up being there ... Eventually I had a very bad experience with the team of this particular cafe that once they were starting off.. They had organised food tasting session and as you all know I attend many food tasting events I was invited for that too... Accordingly I was ready for that and the team had confirmed me that they would revert me when ever they are pretty much organised and well set up... Same day I had waited for the whole day leaving all my other stuffs incomplete and I did not get any call and that's a worthless experience in my entire blogging years till date... Later I see my fellow blogger mates enjoys the food tasting and what actually happened is that the team has just misconcepted with someone else may be some other blogger .... Honesty that was pathetic plus a horrible hospitality.. You invite someone and instead of reverting back you guys give such responses.... Hospitality 0/5 Anyways my friend and I Ended up going there yesterday evening for a coffee and Lasagne... We tried the Lasagne and being true it was really nice The mozzarella cheese sticks were again delicious I completely love it The two coffees were also nice ... Food is satisfying and perfect (ofcourse they deserve 4/5) Ambience is nice, good music and the infrastructural figure is spacious 5/5 Service is quick ..... Prices- Now see if you want good quality food the prices will be little higher but worth paying.. Little expensive but quality and quantity food served ... The food was so good that I actually did not take any pictures as I was so busy eating ... So do tell me know if you like this place and please comment your views too in the...
Read moreThe food quality and quantity is awesome. It's a great place for a mini hangout. Absolutely loved the Lasagne here. Even common items such as pasta and fish and chips are prepared very well and seems better than the ones in more fancied food joints. The Stroganoff on the other hand can be improved.
In terms of service, the waiting staff is very well mannered, cheerful and quick. Cash management can be improved as there's a limit of only ₹1000 on the amount that can be accepted by UPI set by the owner, according to the guy at the counter. While trying to pay by card, he informed that the daily settlement was already done so we have to pay in cash. So, it was a little frantic time trying to arrange cash from friends. Little embarrassing also to be honest.
Overall, it's a place that has never disappointed in terms of the food. I hope the standards are maintained. Love going back there again and again and would recommend...
Read moreHad a wonderful time this evening at the Bean Journal. It's a cozy place, not too big, with a great ambience.
I ordered the Thai Seafood Sizzler and fried ice cream for dessert. The sizzler was one of the best I have ever had! The squid and prawns were delightful! And the fish was so succulent and delicious. I also really loved the veggies and especially the mushrooms. Overall, it was a meal packed with flavor.
However, I found the fried ice cream to be very underwhelming. Portion size was too less and taste was honestly really mediocre. It was just a round fried batter with liquid ice cream inside. It tasted soggy and bland. It wasn't worth spending 225 rupees on.
Other than that, everything else was great. The service was good. They also had live music which made my evening even more magical. Seriously, I am really glad I was in time for the live performance.
I would definitely visit the Bean Journal again...
