Today, based on Google Maps recommendations, we visited this restaurant. At first glance, seeing its exterior, we thought it must be very expensive, but despite that initial impression, we decided to give it a try.

Their menu didn’t have many unnecessary items, but whatever they offered was well-curated and logical. This made it easy for us to skim through the options and settle on the Andhra Veg Thali, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Wonton Soup, and Malai Chicken Tikka.

The food was served on a fresh green banana leaf, which was a nice touch. In the Andhra Veg Thali, the rice served with ghee was so delicious that I ended up enjoying the accompanying 6–7 curries more than I expected. I went back for the rice with ghee three times, and the staff was kind and generous enough to serve me more without hesitation. Among the curries, the onion chutney and dal mix stood out as exceptional, although the others were average. The papad served with the thali was super crispy and satisfying. However, the guava-flavored ice cream included with the thali was not to my liking.

The Chicken Biryani was excellent, with tender and perfectly cooked meat. Since the portion was a bit large, my wife requested the leftovers to be packed. However, when we got home, it seemed they had packed the food in a rather small box, leaving some of the leftovers behind. Nonetheless, this didn’t leave us feeling bitter.

The Malai Chicken Tikka and Chicken Wonton Soup were also outstanding. We wanted to try more dishes, but with our kids, we didn’t dare to order beyond this.

As for the ambiance, it was good, and the staff was polite and cooperative. However, they didn’t have a QR code system for leaving tips. One lady, possibly the manager, seemed to be observing us in a way that felt intrusive and uncomfortable, almost like an invigilator. This happened multiple times, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant experience.

While the ambiance was decent, I wouldn’t describe it as child-friendly. There were no facilities for toddlers or infants to sit securely and comfortably. Adding such amenities would significantly enhance their service. Despite several children being present during our visit, the bathrooms and washbasins were not suitable for young kids.

In conclusion, despite these minor shortcomings, this restaurant is highly recommended. The food quality and taste were exceptional, and the prices were very reasonable—our total bill was just Rs. 1300. If you’re near Bengaluru Palace (it’s only 1.5 km away), this place is definitely worth a visit. Even the security guard was incredibly kind; he helped carry our daughter to the auto we had ordered while leaving. This place is fantastic, and I pray that God blesses this restaurant abundantly and keeps it...

A Proper Andhra Feast Near Bengaluru Palace

After a stroll around Bengaluru Palace yesterday, we stopped by Andhra Ruchulu in Kumarapark - and what a brilliant choice that turned out to be. From the moment we stepped in, the place had that polished, no-nonsense charm: clean interiors, polite staff, and a menu that sticks to what it knows best - authentic Andhra flavours. (It’s a varied menu as well)

We went for the Andhra Veg Full Meals, and honestly, it was an experience in itself. Served traditionally on a fresh banana leaf, every element was packed with flavour. The ghee rice was absolutely spot on - rich, aromatic, and the perfect base for the range of curries and chutneys that followed. The dal and onion chutney in particular were standouts, and the crispy papad added a lovely crunch to the plate.

As a lovely surprise, they served masala guava ice cream at the end - complementary and completely delicious. A quirky flavour, but it worked beautifully and rounded off the meal in a refreshingly unexpected way.

The staff were warm and attentive, topping up our meals with a smile, without being asked. It felt like proper hospitality, not just service. The portion sizes were generous, and for the quality of food we had, the pricing was more than fair.

The restaurant’s located just a short ride from Bengaluru Palace, making it a perfect spot to wrap up a local day out. If you’re after proper Andhra flavours served with care and tradition, this place delivers the goods. Full marks from us - we’ll be back...

I visited this place with a lot of expectations. I am a food lover. I love the food with good service. I am always ready to pay for the loving service. But I was disappointed after visiting this place. The place has a huge crowd which is good for their business. At the reception of receiving people and trying to arrange seating as soon as possible. I am fine to wait and happy for a good crowd. After getting the seat, no one is ready to attend you. The service boys running around tables and no proper plan for what to do. Two managers stood there and just passed the time. Finally a service boy gave us a menu. After searching the menu for 10mins, I selected one item. Tried to order it, but it was not available. No manager is ready to explain any other foods. They were in the mood to come for free meals. Since it is lunch time, I controlled myself and finished my lunch with the worst experience. No where I found a basic respect or smile on the service team faces except a manager at reception. One suggestion to the management, please train your team to serve the food with a little smile. Ambience is not only interiors, staff behaviour is also part of the ambience.
