I recently had the pleasure of dining at Blyton's in Sahakar Nagar, and it was a delightful experience that took me back in time. From the moment I entered, I was captivated by its retro ambience, making it a must-visit place for those who appreciate the old-school charm.
Now, let's dive into the culinary delights we indulged in. The Kozhi Varuval, a chicken dish, was absolutely amazing. The tender and succulent chicken was perfectly spiced, offering a burst of flavors with every bite. It was a true delight that left me wanting more.
Another standout dish was the Yetti Masala, a must-try when paired with steamed rice. The flavors were beautifully balanced, and the succulent prawns soaked up the aromatic spices, creating a mouthwatering combination. This dish truly elevated the dining experience and left a lasting impression.
To accompany our meal, we ordered the boiled peanut masala, which turned out to be a great munching option while enjoying the IPL. The peanuts were perfectly cooked and seasoned, providing a satisfying crunch and a hint of spice.
However, not every dish reached the same level of excellence. The British Railway Cutlet, while decent, didn't quite stand out. It had an average taste and didn't leave a lasting impression. Although it was not a disappointment, it didn't match the caliber of the other dishes we tried.
Overall, Blyton's in Sahakar Nagar offers a retro ambience that will transport you to a bygone era. The standout dishes like the Kozhi Varuval and Yetti Masala showcase the culinary prowess of the kitchen, delivering aptly spiced and succulent flavors that will leave you craving more. The boiled peanut masala is a great accompaniment, providing a tasty snack during your visit. While the British Railway Cutlet was average, it didn't detract from the overall dining experience.

Read moreOur first time at Blyton's and I would give it a rating of 2.5. The non-veg starter was good and it definitely got us excited. However, the vegetarian empanadas were really small, very little filling and a couple of them were also a bit burnt. The cocktails were pretty decent too. I must say that the portion sizes are quite good so we decided to skip the main course and head straight to desert. We ordered for an Alaskan Bake which took over 20 minutes to arrive. And when it did come, it looked like a large mound of cake on a large plate, hurridely slapped with cream ( one of those which could get you to bottom 3 even in Master Chef India) and not appetizing at all. The chef tried doing a flambe on it but the glass from which he was pouring the alcohol got overheated and broke and a piece fell right into the cake mound! The 2nd one came in about 10 minutes, looking the same and this time it seemed as if the alcohol was being poured only on one side. The resultant desert was a vanilla cake with some nuts thrown in and very bitter and a spoon of vanilla icecream somewhere in the centre. Such a big 'desert disappointment priced at INR 720/-!!! The ambience itself is quite nice with a retro feel but with summer in Bangalore at its peak, just ceiling fans are not enough. They need to put up some air-coolers at...
Read moreThe experience at Blytons today evening was PATHETIC. It completely spoiled our evening. We booked a table (well in advance) by calling the Blytons over phone. When we reached, none of the tables were available! And after waiting for sometime, a table was given but without chairs!! It took another 10 min or so to get the chairs. It took them ages to take our order. And even more, before it was served. Fish was extra spicy, which we had requested to keep not spicy. Throughout the period of about 90 minutes, they didnt serve us bottled water which was requested at the beginning. After being kept waiting.......we had no option other than paying the Bill's and come back home.( They didnt charge for the fish which was way too spicy) It was late so we had to do some cooking after reaching home. I felt inside seating was kept reserved for some special guests. Even though I had done advance booking, and while I was waiting to get a table, I asked them why not give me the vacant table inside. To which I was told that it is reserved!! Although I have had nice experience at Blytons before, tonight's been bad enough for me to never...
