The Druid Garden is situated in Sahakarnagar about 200m from NH7 / Bellary Road Highway / Bangalore Hyderabad Highway. Basement Parking facility is there but be ready for the busy traffic.
The interior of this place is beautifully done with a rustic touch and lines of leafy plants lends a garden atmosphere. It is multi-leveled and the top most level is the covered rooftop which doubles as the smoking zone.
6 of us visited (25th November 2017) this restaurant and microbrewery tucked away in Sahakarnagar with high hopes of satiating ourselves with global culinary delights in the oasis called “The Druid Garden”. We began by ordering Margherita Pizza (Rs. 350) which is a typical Neapolitan pizza which has a thin and soft crust, topped with a simple tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. It was perfect and we washed it down with Dunkel Weizen beer!!! That was followed by a juicy a Beef Burger (Rs. 400), the burger done medium rare, which 3 of us voted to be the best we had that day. Beef Chilly Fry (Indian Special) (Rs. 450) was succulent and the Pork Chilly Fry (Rs. 350) was cooked in the same fashion and I personally would have preferred the Pork Chilly Fry be cooked in the Indian-Chinese style. The Seafood Ravioli’s pasta was overcooked and was the disappointment of the day. The server recommended Fish Tikka and it went down well with all of us.
The Ladies tried different cocktails – Purple Paradox, Mojito, Al Fresco Caipiroska and Diviner’s Daiquiri and 2 out of 3 preferred the latter. We ended our meal with desserts – Hazelnut Tortes, Cheesecake and UB Dessert – it was all blissful. We promise to return the next time to try the other mouthwatering recipes and am sure it will not be...
Read moreThe Druid Garden is beautiful restaurant which is designed to capture large amounts of ambient light. It has a wide selections of food which range from Indian till continental making it one of the widest I have seen among any micro brewery in the city.
Ambience: (5/5) Coupled with the plant life, the interiors feel alive and bright especially during the day towards the fading light of the evening. The use of wood and steel balances well with the plant life. The breath of different seating options in the place make it an excellent choice for an office party as there are ample options to quarantine of sections writhing the space. The music was just the right decibel to ensure that while it was there, at no point was it overbearing.
Food: (4/5) Since we came here towards the evening we did not end up ordering much. Had 2 pizzas which were (1) Spicy Chicken and (2) The lamb Sheik. These were both absolutely stunning. Mind you, not as good as #Brikovenblr but still very good overall for a microbrewery. The biggest disappointment however was the grilled prawns. I wasn’t overly fond of the presentation and once I tasted it I was even more unhappy with it. It tasted bland and at some points even felt raw. Recommend avoiding it. It was an even bigger disappointment as it was the days spacial. The beer did, however, make up for the lack of starter for us. Great variety of beer and other alcohols.
Summary: (4/5) With its beautiful interiors and relatively good food, this is one of the best options around Sahakanagar. Drop by and do grab yourself a pizza and beer, you are bound to have a...
Read moreFor me, the USP of this place is their craft beer, food, and service.
Hefeweizen (beer) is always a good choice. You can pair it with Murg Angaar Tikka - succulent pieces of chicken, marinated in a riot of spices and grilled to perfection - well done yet juicy! Served with mint chutney.
For the main course, I opted for neer dosa and chicken ghee roast. This was suggested by Mr. Ashok (whose service was very attentive, courteous, helpful - in short, it was exemplary!!)
The neer dosa was surprisingly well made (because I believe it's best made at home and in hotels it is made too thin). It reminded me of home food.
The chicken ghee roast was very delectable! The red byadigi chillies ground and roasted in ghee gave it a fabulously rich colour, aroma and distinctive taste. The chicken had absorbed the masala really well and was very flavourful!
I completed my meal with their delicious mess sundae - 3 scoops of ice cream with a little bit of brownie crumble and topped with raspberry sauce. I loved the salted butter caramel and tiramisu ice cream scoops, but the Belgian chocolate ice cream was a tad too dark and a little bitter for my taste (That's why 4 stars instead of 5).
I would like to specifically mention Mr. Ashok's service - he was very patient in answering all my queries, and his suggestion for the main course made my meal very memorable!
I have always appreciated their ambience, and enjoyed countless delicious meals at Druid Garden, and will definitely keep...
