Firstly, I would like to let you know that the name Chairman's Resort for the hotel in Sahakaranagar is misleading. Its more of a Hotel with rooms and some poorly maintained sporting facilities. Seems like the main crowd there, is for the pub/restaurant, which turns quite busy every evening with IPL matches shown on big screens. So, as a family, we were disappointed to have been there.
Here's what I experienced during my stay. I was looking for comfortable staycation where I could stay and more importantly wanted games like Badminton, TT, Carrom, Swimming pool for the next 2 days, I was to stay there. We booked the Suite rooms so that we could have some good space within the room. Probably thats one of the positive things of the hotel. The Suite rooms were spacious, but poorly maintained. The flooring tiles is broken, A/C doesn't seem to work or is too noisy, the balcony doors can't be locked, the sofa's in the suite room are broken and the bath room's are like any normal 1 or 2 star hotels, which was not even close to semi-luxury for that price. So, the rooms maintenance was a big dampener for us.
We chose to ignore it and went ahead thinking lets enjoy the games instead of sitting around in the rooms. The sporting facilities were even more pathetic in maintenance. The badminton court wooden flooring has water leaking from above, white and black carrom coins are indistinguishable with no lighting above them. The snooker table was torn all over. They had literally placed chopped wooden planks for TT. Ridiculous offerings for a 3* hotel. Inspite of giving it in writing that we can use all the facilities of the resort, once we go there, the staff is rude and behave as if they are doing a favour to us. Badminton guy says, you can play only one hour that too at their stipulated time. Swimming pool is also available only between 12-1 pm and 6-8pm. Rest of the time they have coaching classes going on. And during the allotted time, the number of heads visible in the pool were more than the water visible. Hands slapping you from all directions when you can hardly more few feet without bumping into someone. Total mismanagement by the management. The highlight was when I asked for new carrom coins to play, the staff mentioned they have to take it up with higher management to take a decision to buy carrom coins of Rs 100/-. Utterly laughable plight of the hotel.
The worst thing about the place is the staff and their attitude towards customers. Right from the front desk, who is utterly unresponsive to the people managing the sports facilities. One of them even claimed, we need to get our own TT bats and ball to play in the hotel !! I spoke to the GM also before leaving the place and he did accept the flaws and wanted me to give my feedback in writing. I chose to post it here, so it helps set the right expectations with people. I am also attaching some photos for you to decide and take a call. I hope they do take the feedback positively and improve on their service.
Ya..and the complimentary breakfast was decent, nothing too great but not...
Read moreThe 2 star rating is also given only for the decent food menu and tasty dishes they had in their restaurant. The quality and quantity was pretty much sufficient and the staff serving us were also very amicable. Now coming to the resort - Very badly maintained property but have just uploaded eye catching pictures online just to scam us. Such an old building and a very gloomy ambience. No where else a receptionist would be surprised sarcastically for booking their suite rooms. She was asking why spend so much for a room. Ideally she should have been happy for opting their high range suite. We go to resorts for their pool and indoor games. The pool was combined with club visitors and also swimming classes making it like a market place. The indoor games were so poorly maintained that they were not in a state to be used. Also, the ambience was so bleak and dull. I would earnestly request their management to upload the real pictures of their age old badly maintained resort pics in their website rather than the ones over there. The housekeeping had not cleaned their last evening party leftovers till the next day noon which was shocking. The kid’s swimming pool was full of cockroaches and dirt. Have never seen a pool so flooded with people that you don’t have space to swim. The swimming restrooms were so unhygienic that I was scared of getting infected. Would never recommend anyone for a stay and not even for a club membership as it would be a...
Read moreI wish i could give negative rating. This is not at all a resort! Its like a training centre, convention hall.. there are only cons about this place( I cannot call this a resort from any angle) there's no privacy at all except for the room. Swimming pool was very very crowded.. not even a cm space to breathe.. so much of noise everywhere.. There is not even some place where we can sit and relax! Everywhere people.. its like some convention centre. 3 birthday parties were going on! Everywhere people. You can't get some peace time! There's indoor games like badminton, table tennis etc but everything was occupied. Room service was bad. Anything we wanted, had to ask 3-4 times. There's no greenery No children's play area instead of getting some relaxation, i got frustrated because of wasting such huge amount on this waste place. First time i took my parents to resort. Now they feel like not going to any other resort. Its like any other hotel room. No facilities for people who book as resort and go.. may be this crowd is due to people taken membership and using amenities!! For outsiders there is no chance to use any amenities We checked in here at 1pm and i am writing this review at 7:30pm.. within this short time i am Feeling bored and waste of money coming here. I wish they refund the amount. Stupid thing.. haven't used any of the amenities...
