Stepping into this establishment, I immediately felt a sense of delight; simply put, the place is amazing. It offers a rare and beautiful confluence of exceptional quality and outstanding value. In today’s dining landscape, finding a spot that delivers on taste, atmosphere, and cost can be a challenge, but this restaurant manages it effortlessly. The best part? It’s genuinely budget-friendly, making it the perfect destination for a regular weeknight dinner or a celebratory meal that won't strain your wallet. The ambiance contributes significantly to the overall positive experience. The atmosphere is good, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment that encourages you to relax and enjoy the food. Whether it’s the soft lighting, the tasteful decor, or the gentle hum of happy diners, the setting is just right—neither too formal nor too casual, striking that perfect balance for a pleasant outing. However, the true stars of the show are, without a doubt, the dishes themselves. The menu is a vibrant celebration of authentic flavors, and the two items that immediately stole the spotlight were the ‘Jackfruit Rasayana’ and ‘Patrode’. They were simply the best. The Jackfruit Rasayana is a revelation, an indulgent, naturally sweet, and creamy concoction that bursts with the rich, unmistakable taste of ripe jackfruit. It's a comforting, classic dessert done to absolute perfection—a luxurious finish to a meal or a wonderful palate cleanser. The Patrode, on the other hand, provides a brilliant savory contrast. This traditional, steamed savory roll, often made with colocasia leaves, was expertly spiced and textured. Each bite was a delightful mix of earthy, sharp, and tangy notes, proving that traditional recipes, when executed with care, can be truly transcendent. But the culinary adventure didn’t end there. For an unexpected fusion treat, the Idli Manchurian was good. This dish takes the humble, soft idli and transforms it into an Indo-Chinese delight. The idlis were perfectly crisp-coated and tossed in a tangy, spicy Manchurian sauce that had just the right amount of kick. It’s an imaginative and satisfying dish, perfect for those who appreciate a playful twist on South Indian staples. Yet, if I had to single out one dish that truly defined the meal, it would be the Paddu Chocolava. Without exaggeration, it was the best item on the entire menu. This inventive dessert elevates the paddu (or paniyarum), typically a savory, sphere-shaped dumpling, by filling it with a decadent, molten chocolate lava center. Imagine biting into the crispy, lightly sweet exterior only to have a river of warm, rich chocolate ooze out. It’s a masterful creation that is both comforting and exciting, a must-try dessert that ensures the meal ends on an unforgettable high note. This restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a delightful experience. From the impeccable traditional dishes to the surprisingly successful fusion items and the phenomenal desserts, every element—capped off by the affordable prices and pleasant atmosphere—makes it a...

This is NOT Udupi Dosa!

As someone who has grown up enjoying true Udupi-style dosas, I walked into this place with high hopes and left with nothing but regret. What they served in the name of “Udupi Dosa” was a complete mockery of the cuisine.

First off, the dosa was soggy, thin (like TamilNadu style), and lacked the signature crispiness that defines a good Udupi dosa. It tasted bland, under-fermented, and felt more like a reheated crepe than a freshly made dosa. The sambar was watered down and flavorless, and the chutneys—especially the coconut one—tasted like they were made yesterday (and stored improperly since then).

This isn’t just a case of a bad day in the kitchen—it’s a complete failure to understand or respect the very basics of Udupi culinary tradition. If you’re going to use “Udupi” on your menu, at least make the effort to serve something remotely authentic.

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. This was a culinary letdown that no South Indian food lover should have to endure.

Again

Wanting to give constructive feedback, I asked to speak to the operations manager — and to my shock, he flat-out refused to listen. He was dismissive, uninterested, and seemed more offended by my feedback than concerned about the food quality. If this is how customer input is treated, it explains why the food standards are this low.

Calling this “Udupi style” is misleading at best and disrespectful to the actual cuisine at worst. If you care about real South Indian food — avoid this place. They’re not serving the culture, the flavor, or even the basic courtesy a...

you’re looking for authentic South Udupi cuisine, this place is a must-visit. The flavors are truly traditional, reminding me of home-style cooking from Udupi.

🍛 Food: • The sambar and rasam are perfectly spiced, with that distinct Udupi touch of fresh ground masala and a hint of jaggery. • The idlis are soft and fluffy, paired beautifully with coconut chutney. • I especially loved the ghee dosa – crisp on the outside, soft inside, with that unmistakable aroma of pure ghee. • Don’t miss the Udupi-style meals on banana leaf – simple, sattvic, yet full of variety and balance.

🍴 Authenticity: Unlike many places that commercialize the cuisine, this hotel maintains the traditional Udupi satvik style, without onion and garlic, yet full of flavor.

✨ Ambiance & Service: The place has a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are polite and serve with genuine warmth, which adds to the overall experience.

💰 Value for Money: Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the quality more than...

Stepped into this very new spot serving authentic dishes from the Udupi region, and I must say — it’s got heart! ❤️ The menu is simple, but the flavors? Spot on. Their soft Idlis and crispy Dosas pair beautifully with that coconut chutney – easily one of the best I’ve had in recent times. That chutney deserves a fan club of its own! Yes, the place is new. Yes, it’s crowded – because people are loving the food! Let’s not be too harsh with early reviews. Every restaurant has teething issues in the beginning — from managing crowds to streamlining service. But one thing’s clear – the kitchen knows what it’s doing. The food is rooted, honest, and takes you straight to a coastal Udupi home. So instead of complaints, maybe a little patience and encouragement? Because this place is already showing great promise. Give them some time… and you’ll see something wonderful unfold.

The food is actually amazing. We had many items and all tasted excellent. We were here for brunch. We started with Moode Idly(4/5), then we had patrode(5/5). Infact this is the first time I had patrode. Then we ordered Onion Dip Dosa(4/5). This was a new dish to me. Next we ordered Malpe Rolls(4/5) and Peri Peri Idly Fries(5/5). The fries were exactly same as regular French fries. Next we had Veg Biryani(4/5). I thought it would be like the regular biryani, but the masala combination was spot on. Also we had Ragi roti(4/5) in between. Lastly we had the famous Mango Rasayana(5/5) and Lemon Ginger Elneer(4/5). It was pure heaven. I would seriously recommend this hotel to others. Next till we will plan for other dishes. I have heard good reviews for their lunch. Plan to revisit soon.

Visited Café Udupi Ruchi in Jayanagar and absolutely loved the experience! We tried the Burgosa, Malpe Rolls, Idli Fries, and Sambar Vade, and each one had its own charm. The Burgosa was fusion of burgers and dosa, while the Malpe Rolls were soft and sweet. The Idli Fries were such a fun twist on a classic and the peri peri flavour just made it even more tasty. Sambar Vade could have been a bit more fresh and crispy. But overall a comforting and full of homely touch. The café itself is clean, cozy, and has a really pleasant vibe. Service was quick and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality they offer. Overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy good South Indian food especially Mangalorean vegetarian cuisine with a modern twist highly recommended!
