Well Catholic Club has been a mixed bag after all i had heard about it!! For starters let's start with positive points 1. Location!! It's centrally placed and good area and closest to brigade and MG Road 2. Rooms are spacious 3. You get a variety of food and food tastes good.... Don't try the dal Or prawns curry though 4. The attendents are very polite and humble 5. The best steaks I had The negative points 1. The rooms are dirty.. We stayed for two days and the rooms were not even cleaned in those two days. Even the coffee and tea ans sugar were not replenished.. The rooms had broken latches on the doors and few broken things in the room.. So i was wonder if a class club is so badly maintained, what about other clubs.. We were later told during check out that they need our permission to clean the room. 2. Food order takes ages atleast an hour for food to deliver. 3. The shower is flimsy.. There is no constant hot water supply.. And in Bangalore cold weather, you can't take bath in intermittent supply of hot water.. 4. The restaurant is another level altogether.. A few club members are bully that they push you and make their way around.. I wonder how inspite being interviewed and all that fancy waiting period, they still manage to get rude people in the club.. The breakfast is officially opens at 8 am, but it opens only at 9 am.. Or else you just get idli sambar and chai.. 5. If you leave your car keyes with the parking attendents please do not keep anything in your car.you car can be searched. And there is no lift from parking lot to reception.. You have to carry your stuff. Well this is my frank review of this place..

Zero Customer Satisfaction. We stayed in catholic club for 4 nights as member guests. We were given early check in as we arrived at 7:30 AM. The room is the only reason I've given a 1 star rating. It was spacious and neat. Until we discovered the AC flaps don't rotate. It was broken and made noise now and then. There was no kettle in the room. We had to ask for one and every time we called up for something we needed to either call twice or wait for a minimum of 15 mins. The breakfast buffet is in an outdoor setting. While I do understand that flies cannot be controlled fully it completely killed my appetite everytime I saw the number of flies around the food, sitting on the spoons. Side note, if you're not a member here be ready to be treated as almost invisible. We asked for an omlette before a few people and ended up getting it last. Breakfast options are also very limited. One of the tables we sat at as I ate, a cockroach crawled into my plate. The water in the bathroom was cloudy for 1 day. Cherry on top? When we were checking out, the food card (which is recharged for any amount you want and is used to place orders) showed a balance of 340. Initially we recharged it for just Rs.1000 and ate only ONCE at the club. The bill was Rs. 580. When mentioned this to the receptionist he kept insisting that maybe we forgot and must have ordered something and gave me a refund of only Rs.300. I was then told since it was a Sunday, the ledger for the transactions were closed and that I would receive a bill on the food transactions made to our room on Monday (17th April). This has not happened till date.

Completely mixed reviews about the club and our stay. The location is absolutely A1 which is why it was and will be my preferred option. While the staff (especially chambers reception) were exceptionally nice and helpful to the best of their ability. However communication was a bit of a challenge. Housekeeping wasn’t the best and they had to be constantly reminded to provide towels, water etc. They were just very forgetful. The food was inconsistent. Some was good and some options were barely edible. My son had the spaghetti bolognaise on one day and it was delicious. We ordered it again a few days later and it was repulsive. It tasted like boiled mince in a brown soup stock cube. Really salty and inedible. The buffet Breakfast was the same for all 5 days that we were there. Even coffee was just filter. No black coffee options either. The worst part is I once saw a lot of cockroaches in the egg trays and brought it to the attention of the caterer. I feel bad to complain because the staff were genuinely nice but feel that I must be honest so that the club can take necessary action in improve the hygiene especially in these post-covid times. Overall, a pleasant stay but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Report on Catholic Club, Bangalore The Catholic Club is a prestigious and well-established social and recreational club in Bangalore. It is not a typical commercial hotel but a private members' club with accommodation and dining facilities, primarily for its members and their guests. Location and History • Location: The club is centrally located on Museum Road, a prime area in Bangalore, flanked by Brigade Road. This makes it highly accessible and a hub for social activities in the city's heart. It's a short distance from major landmarks, shopping areas, and business districts. • History: The Catholic Club was established in 1948 by the Bangalore Catholic Archdiocese. It has a rich history, starting with a small number of families and growing into a thriving community center. It is notable for its Christmas and New Year's events and its focus on family-oriented activities. Facilities and Amenities The club offers an extensive range of facilities for its members and their guests: • Accommodation: The club has "Chambers" for stay, which includes a limited number of deluxe rooms and suites. These rooms are well-appointed and offer a comfortable stay. As it is a private club, booking is primarily for members and their guests, often at a significantly lower rate for members. • Dining and Food & Beverage: The Catholic Club has multiple food outlets, including a main dining room that serves a variety of cuisines. The club is known for its diverse menu, ranging from traditional "darshini" style food to continental, North Indian, and Chinese dishes. It also has cafes and bars for more casual dining and social gatherings. • Sports and Recreation: The club is well-equipped with various sports facilities, including wooden-floor badminton courts, squash courts, a swimming pool, and other indoor games like table tennis and carrom. • Other Facilities: The club also features a library, a gym, a salon, a spa, and event spaces. Guest and Member Experience • Exclusivity: The Catholic Club operates on a membership basis. Access to its facilities, especially accommodation and certain events, is restricted to members and their sponsored guests. This provides a private and exclusive atmosphere. • Community and Events: The club has a strong sense of community, with a calendar full of events for different age groups. It is known for its social gatherings and festive celebrations. • Service and Ambience: The atmosphere is often described as warm, inviting, and peaceful, offering a retreat from the city's bustle. Reviews on service are mixed, with some praising the staff while others mention issues with wait times or responsiveness. • Value Proposition: For members and their guests, the club provides excellent value for money due to the extensive facilities and relatively affordable pricing for food and accommodation compared to commercial hotels in the same area. Conclusion The Catholic Club is not a conventional hotel but a heritage institution that serves as a social and recreational hub for its members. Its primary appeal lies in its central location, a wide array of facilities, and a strong sense of community. For non-members, access is limited, but for those with connections, it offers a unique and value-rich experience, blending colonial charm with modern amenities. It is a suitable choice for travelers who seek a more private, residential, and culturally rich environment rather than a typical...
