Chez Marianick Bakery in Whitefields, Bangalore, is a spot that promises a delightful array of baked goods but unfortunately falls short in some key areas. Here’s a detailed review that captures both the positives and the negatives of this establishment:
Food Quality and Taste: Chez Marianick Bakery shines when it comes to the taste and quality of its offerings. The bakery boasts an impressive range of items, from delicious pizzas, awesome lasagnas, custard, tarts to savory breads and delightful baguettes. The lemon tarts are particularly noteworthy, with a delicous filling that complements the perfectly crisp exterior. The artisanal bread has a great crust and a soft, airy crumb that suggests a dedication to traditional baking methods. Their selection of tarts and cheese cakes, especially the fruit-based ones, are fresh, flavorful, and display a commendable attention to detail in both taste and presentation. The bakery also offers a variety of savory options like pizzas and lasagnas, which are well-prepared and seasoned just right. The flavors are bold, and the ingredients seem to be of good quality, which makes the food a standout in terms of taste.
Hygiene and Cleanliness: Unfortunately, while the food quality is impressive, the overall hygiene and cleanliness of Chez Marianick Bakery leave much to be desired. Upon entering, you’ll immediately notice the unkempt condition of the premises. The floors are noticeably dirty, which is not just an aesthetic issue but a significant concern for food safety. The surfaces and corners appear to be neglected, adding to the unappealing environment. Moreover, the presence of flies around the open food items is troubling. This issue is compounded by the fact that many of the baked goods are displayed without any form of cover. This not only increases the risk of contamination but also detracts from the overall appeal of the items. The lack of proper protection for the food raises concerns about how well the bakery adheres to food safety regulations. The unclean environment and the noticeable lack of adequate sanitation measures suggest that the bakery could benefit from a thorough cleaning and a review of its hygiene practices. For a place that handles food, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness is crucial, both for the health of its customers and for upholding its reputation.
Service and Atmosphere: The service at Chez Marianick Bakery is generally friendly, and the staff seem knowledgeable about the products they offer. However, the atmosphere of the bakery is overshadowed by the cleanliness issues, which could be off-putting for many patrons. The ambiance is more functional than inviting, and the lack of a well-maintained environment detracts from what could otherwise be a charming and cozy bakery experience.
Overall Impressions: Chez Marianick Bakery in Whitefields offers some truly delicious baked goods that are worth trying if you’re a fan of high-quality cakes and breads. However, the bakery's significant hygiene issues—such as dirty floors, unclean premises, the presence of flies, and uncovered food items—are serious drawbacks. These factors may make some customers hesitant to return, despite the tempting treats on offer. For the bakery to enhance its appeal and ensure the safety and satisfaction of its customers, addressing these cleanliness issues should be a top priority. Until then, while the food remains a highlight, the overall dining experience is compromised by these...

I recently visited a so-called "hidden gem of Whitefield" “ run by a French chef” that turned out to be no better than a run-down highway dhaba. The experience was abysmal from start to finish.
Firstly, the hygiene was downright pathetic. Flies were having a field day on our food, and the place was far from clean. The servers themselves looked dirty and spoke lazily, adding to the overall sense of neglect.
For an open bakery restaurant pizzeria, they were woefully unprepared for a hot sunny day. They had a single pedestal fan placed in a remote corner, which did nothing to alleviate the discomfort of the customers.
The prices were outrageously high for what was offered. A quiche priced at ₹950? You've got to be kidding me. Even the pizzas were priced at ₹400-600. For those prices, you'd expect at least a semblance of quality and service. Unfortunately, both were sorely lacking.
Vegetarians, beware! The options were nearly non-existent. For the options that seem vegetarian, could have eggs in the base! 😞 Pizzas were below average is all we can say. One pizza did not even have salt.
Despite the reels and promotions showing off a quaint French vibe, this place fell flat on every promise. We were led to believe that we'd experience the charm of a French café, but what we got was a dirty, overpriced mess.
Service was ultra-slow and unprofessional. We were told our order would be taken in 20 minutes. Read it again!! It’s not that the order will be delivered in 20 minutes, but they will take your order only after 20 minutes of you being seated in the restaurant!!! and, it will be another 10 minutes of having taken your order will they get you a glass, with water bottle to follow in another 5 minutes! 🤯
If you happen to be hungry and need something quickly, then you will be asked to go to the counter and pick up the desserts by yourself! Again, mind you, it wasn’t a buffet, but just that they don’t have the time for such service. This is simply unacceptable, especially considering there were only 15 tables max at the place.
In summary, avoid this place if you value your money, time, and stomach. The food is expensive, and definitely not worth it. I would rather eat at a highway...
Read moreTerrible service and will never recommend to anyone. Firstly, the timings mentioned on Google are incorrect. We reached there at 11am on Sunday as Google said that it opens at 10am and just for context - we live more than an hour away and went all the way to have their crêpes and galettes. When we reached there, it looked deserted, no one was around, everything seemed old and dusty. One of the helpers/ cooks told us that it will open past 12pm but if we leave then we won't get a seat as it will get very crowded by then. We saw some staff carrying fresh pain au chocolats and croissants so we decided to have a few of those while we were waiting for the restaurant to open. The bakery items were really good, a bit heavy and too oily but for the price, it was a great deal and excellent balance of flavors. While we waited, no one came to attend us or even offer water. We got it ourselves. Some more customers began to come in and were waiting just like us. At 12:30pm, we saw 1-2 staff who came and stood near to the front desk with a disgusted look on their face - as if they did not want any customers and were so disinterested to even speak to us and kept saying that the restaurant would open in a bit. After inquiring, they said they will only serve a few pizzas and nothing else on the menu was available. It was ridiculous and highly unprofessional behaviour as we waited for more than 1.5 hrs (travelled 3hrs to and fro) and none of the staff had the courtesy to attend us or care to inform us that most of their menu was unavailable. We waited for nothing and returned without ordering or eating as we were tired of waiting and did not travel all the way just to have pizzas and being served by staff who were so disinterested in providing services. We feared that even the pizzas would take forever. It was a hot summer day. We were tired, dehydrated, and famished. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Do not recommend going here unless you live near and want to pick up some...
