Daily Sushi - Jayanagar — Restaurant in Bengaluru

The service here is extremely slow. Our food took forever to be served. We first ordered for Pork Yakitori, Chicken Gunkan Roll, Beef Gimbap Roll. After waiting for 25 mins, Pork Yakitori was served which was average as the pork was quite tough to chew. While waiting for the rest of the food, we decided to add Prawn Tempura to the order. After waiting another 25- 30 mins, Prawn Tempura came without any sign of the rest of the food. In the mean time, we asked for 2 glasses of regular water. The waiter came and served us water with a strand of hair in one of our glasses. We returned the glass, showed the strand of hair and asked for a new glass of water. Finally, we received out order of Chicken Gunkan but it was not prepared as a roll, it came in a bowl. When we pointed out to the waiter that we had ordered for a roll, the waiter went back to the counter and came back with the order receipt arguing that this is what we ordered & not the roll. At this point, the restaurant manager - Mr. Chandra Lal, came and apologised to us and told us that we will get our correct order. Even previously when the waiter came to us to take our order, it seemed like the waiter was clueless about the menu and isn't familiar about the food that is being served in the restaurant. When asked about details of the food, the waiter was only able to say "Maki or Nigiri". It looked like he was only familiar with these two words. After waiting painfully for another 25-30 mins, our Gunkan roll was served and when we asked the waiter which dish it was since we were waiting for our Gimbap as well, the waiter was clueless about what he was serving us. This time the manager came and explained to us that it was Gunkan roll. The manager was also kind enough to apologise about the slow service and acknowledged that we've been kept waiting for a long time. From this point onwards, we were being served by the manager and not the waiters anymore. We also noticed that the manager was attending to rest of the tables. Realising that it would take forever for our main course to be served, we placed order for our main course i.e Smonky Pork Chashu Ramyun and Salmon Donburi. The Gimbap roll was finally served to us after which left like it came one and half hours after ordering it. It seems like each item you order, you have to wait 30 mins to receive it. Surprisingly the main course arrived quicker compared to rest of the food. The Pork Ramyun was really good but the Donburi felt like it was quite dry. Food is overall average, there are better places in the city that serve really good and authentic Japanese/Korean food. This seemed like a very 'fast-food' version of it. After this experience, I doubt I will ever recommend this place to anyone. I would like to really compliment the manager here, Mr. Chandra Lal, for he was the only person who knew the menu, knew how to speak to customers and he kept us cool while we were getting impatient with the delayed service. Was craving some Sushi & Ramen, so went to Daily Sushi for the very first time with a friend, and I was impressed.

1. Gunkan Maki Sushi Platter: If you want to try a mix of their Sushi varieties, this is the best & it did not disappoint. All of them were mindblowing. Paired with the Wasabi & Pickled Ginger, this was beyond my expectations.

2. Prawn Tempura Tonkotsu Ramen: The broth was a bit too bland for me, but I guess that is how it usually is? Maybe? However, loved it, loved the way the Noodles were cooked but mostly importantly, the highlight of this was the Tempura Prawn - Crunchy, Juicy, Prefertly Cooked & Fresh Prawns.

3. Salmon Donburi: This is a must have. Salmon just melts in your mouth - I was sad, yet happy at the same time - sad because the Salmon vanishes too quickly in your mouth & happy because it is like butter & melts-in-the-mouth. Rice was a bit sweet so I added a tad bit Soy Sauce to this & it elevated the taste.

The staff was super courteous & all dishes are well priced & value-for-money in terms of the portion size. I really hope this is not just a promotional gimmick & that they continue to serve excellent value-for-money Japanese food.

Decor, ambience & lighting were all spot on.

Hoping to visit Daily Sushi...

Overall food quality is good. Many rice bowls don't come with sauce and hence dry. Veg options are many but they rotate between tofu, mushroom, eggplant. Not everything is very authentic. Mushroom yakitori is a good value for money.

I rated less because if you want to eat tomorrow, you have to order today. I have not seen a place that takes this much of time for food, even to get your first course. The only thing that comes at a decent speed is coke. :-) It overall took 1 hr to 2 hrs for us just get all our food ordered. I refused to pay service fee (10% on top of the GST) as it is definitely not worth and they removed. The manager apologized before we.left. Maybe there is no second time. It was bugging that they kept on taking Swiggy and Zomato while the customers inhouse could not be served. The waiters did not show any sensitivity when we twice complained and so others.
