A herbivore's den : Fitofaga.
Fitofaga is a restaurant that is located in the main busy street in HSR. And is just above Kushals fashion jewelry store in HSR. Fitofaga means herbivores in Italian or spanish language. The place is a brain child of two passionate foodie techies who chose to serve healthy, preservatives free, GSM free, no artificial flavouring used in food. That caters to Vegetarian cuisine and has few dishes in menu that are Vegan too. Very simple decor with comfortable seating. can accommodate upto 30 to 35 people at ond go. A huge glass wall or window overlooking the busy streets pf HSR. lets in enough day light during afternoon to consume minimal electricity. The menu of the place is designed complimenting the name of place Vegetarian / Vegan food. To start off we had teas here. One was ginger with lemongrass tea and ginger with rosemary tea. Both the tea were served very hot. And had very mild flavour of lemongrass or rosemary as the ginger flavour overpowered. Here ia more about the food I tried here: Veg Manchurian dry : A crispy fried balls of minced vegetables topped with a sauce - was not too crispy neither soggy. i liked it as it is diet friendly and the vegetables used ate fresh and are very finely chopped This was followed by a sprouts and vegetable salad - fresh sprouted green grans of the day was used with a little bit of boiled corns, bell peppers and some panneer with a slight oinch of dry lemon grass powder added on. it was refreshing and light on tummy.
Pente protien - a good dose of vegetarian protein for my meal - had a portion of grilled vegetable and quinoa. mildly spiced just like home made. but had good flavour in quinoa. best part was quinoa being cooked really well.
Vegan thai green curry. The curry came with a portion of herbed rice. Hot bowl of thai green curry with vegetable cooked in in house preservatives free cocunut cream - was a bit less creamy and too strong taste of lemon grass - which gave a feel of home made thai curry - was perfect. no artificial colors added, no ready made coconut cream that is loaded with preservatives makes it all thr more healthy and fit friendly meal .
Malai kofta curry with paratha - malai kofta was perfect and curry was thick and tasty. Parathas was thin and soft.
To end the meal on a sweeter note we had eggless baked cheesecake served with grenadine syrup - perfect melt in the mouth texture. the sweetness was just apt. Am not a cheesecake kinda person but still i managed yo eat the whole serving. Super yummy cheesecake made using cream cheese that is made in house is a plus.

They make things in house like tofu , sauces etc. The food is great as well and a portion of the dishes will take your breath away. The dishes i tried over there
Ginger and Rosemary Tea - Quite an extraordinary mix, both spruce you up in various ways. While the rosemary makes you feel that herby freshness, ginger opens up the entirety of your faculties and makes you feel invigorated.
Honey Garlic Tofu - This natively constructed tofu is simply excessively great. It's decent and delicate and dissimilar to other market purchased ones, the sauce even infiltrated inside. In this manner, it wasn't tasteless inside and made for one astounding dish. An unquestionable requirement go after all!
Mexican Cauliflower Rice - This is extremely decent and light alternative, essentially containing minced cauliflower. It has a couple of vegetables, avocado and cheddar, alongside fundamental flavoring and gentle flavors.
Wholegrain Vegetable Khichdi - This is likely the nearest you can get the chance to comfort nourishment. Being the culinary expert's extraordinary creation, this to be sure ticks all cases. It's made of wholegrains and has a couple of slashed vegetables, yet the expansion of the ghee and the comfortable solace of eating it warm is simply unmatched.
Daddy a la Huancaina - It has potatoes and lettuce as base beat with a hot sauce containing cheddar. The way all the fixings meet up so well is the thing that makes this dish novel. The fiery sauce adds flavor to the flat base and that lavishness along these lines adjusting it in general.
Eggless Baked Cheesecake - This is a totally vegan cheesecake, with no egg, yet it has that stunning smooth surface. It just melts in the mouth and is presented with a pomegranate sauce.
By and large, adored their food and how ameliorating everything is. In addition, it's not in any way overwhelming on the pocket and start their day on...
Read moreFitofaga fits well in the recent buzz words of food industry, vegan, gluten-free and keto meals. Located in the streets of HSR, this is one of the must-try places. The homegrown and homemade food ingredients add a touch of authenticity in the dishes served and are undoubtedly healthier.
I started my dinner with a "Lemongrass Ginger Tea" and was impressed by how they plucked the fresh lemongrass leaves right in front of me. The "Vegan Soya Tikki" had a blend of almonds, dates and fresh herbs, this is one of the healthiest I've had. I relished their "Honey Garlic Tofu", served with the homemade tofu in sweet & spicy sauce.
The salad options here are really tempting. I had a "Sprouts & Veggie Salad", a blend of all the fresh vegetables tossed in cottage cheese cubes and olive oils, a "Pénte Proteîne Salad", which had grilled vegetables and tofu, served with quinoa, cheese & jalapenos. And my favorite was "Vegan Quinoa Salad", the mix of fresh veggies with quinoa, chickpeas (made a difference) and fresh herbs, all the flavors added a great taste.
The "Bumblebee Stew" is yet another surprising dish served with herbed rice. It's made of kidney beans and corns have an added dash of sweetness by Honey and is topped with cheese. The taste was new and delicious for my palates.
For the dessert, I had a "Coconut and Oats Balls" with chocolate syrup and an amazing "Cottage Cheese Pudding", I never thought of this possibility with the paneer. It was yum till the last spoon.
I loved the presence of air-purifying plants in their ambiance. The staff is very generous and well informed with the dishes on the menu. The prices are very economical and...
