Multiple reasons why Indigo XP has received such a low, but justified rating, so let's dive straight into them.
Different charging scheme for Indigo XP Koramangala compared to Indigo XP HSR Indigo XP Koramangala ALWAYS charges 2000 for entry, and then they deduct 50 bucks charge for a prepaid card which has the remainder 1950 Rs which you can spend. The biggest problem of this is that you can't even keep the card and re-use it for the next time! They take it back from you every night, and then charge you 50 bucks again the next time you come. Criminal if you ask me, read on to know why. Ironically, their HSR outlet only charges you 1500 bucks, then once again gives you a prepaid card to spend inside, but doesn't charge you for it! Why this sort of cheating Indigo XP??? How come you suddenly incur no costs for this prepaid card in HSR, when in Koramangala you do? You just have to siphon off money via your more popular Koramangala outlet, don't you! It took me just one visit to the HSR outlet to figure this out. Imagine if you take into account even 300 people per night, that amounts to 15,000 of free money the club just made.
Multiple hidden rules to discriminate against Stags!! I am so agitated to even write this as I have never seen such badly discriminating behavior against stags ever in my time visiting clubs in Bangalore. One the first night I went to this club, I was allowed to dance wherever I wanted, no issues. The second time I go, I am not allowed to dance at the front section to the left of the DJ. In specific, the question asked to me by the bouncer was, where is your couple? When I replied in the negative, he said stags are not allowed here. The next time I go there, I am not allowed to dance on any of the front sections, either to the left or the right of the DJ! What the hell is going on here! and why the hell was I not informed of these rules when you'll were charging me the bloody entry fee! More so, why do these rules change every single time I go there?! My biggest problem is that they don't communicate these so called rules before charging the exorbitant 2K entry cover, and then force them on you inside the club as if they are rulers, no less. The bouncers act like the bloody moral police and target you even more if you are a stag. I can understand in places like Bombay Adda, where you have a separate VIP floor where one needs to pay more. Here the bouncers "create" such VIP areas out of thin air and don't allow you to enter them. Absolutely shameless and insensitive behavior from an outlet like Indigo XP. Most of the 3 stars lost in this rating are due to this very point, just because it hints at a much more sinister ego of the club. You don't screw around with the people who have paid the most to enter your club Indigo XP, if I wish I can dance on someone's head and you can't stop me.
DJ Kiran AKA Spyke plays the same music again and again and again! Apparently well known for his Wednesday and Saturday night gigs at Indigo XP, it took me a few visits to understand one GLARING weakness of DJ Spyke. He plays the exact same music every time! I bet you if you go for a few of his gigs, you will realize he is playing nothing different on Saturday as compared to the Wednesday night. In fact, this is so apparent that sometimes, if one song is playing, I can tell with certain accuracy what the next song will be. This is just so boring after a while and I urgently request DJ Kiran to stop playing the same bloody set again and again and again! No one likes the same music dude, no matter how good it is! I also say this because I feel DJ Kiran has talent, but he is just being complacent. I do understand that DJs tend to travel a lot around India and juggle the same few sets across cities, but DJ Spyke does not have the common sense to even understand that he is playing at the "same" place and bar after 2 days.
On the flipside, some of the staff are quite helpful, but none of that changes how I feel about this place overall - A place that got too popular for its own good, and now...
Read moreI strongly believe the reviews of Zomato and based on that I choose to visit the places....first time I felt that sometimes things are just overrated even on Zomato!! After seeing 4.5 rating I planned to visit this place and visited this place along with my wife, friends and colleagues - total 11 members but kind of two internal groups. I made the reservation on HighApe for Saturday night, well in advance and when I reached the place, the girl on reception was very impolite, not sure what was wrong with her! That was the first thing went wrong and then I reached on rooftop, I come to know I did not have any reservation. No reservations to sit indoor or outdoor and place was fully occupied, sone tables were empty but having the reserved tag on it. When checked with manager, he told your reservation is just for DJ night, please go and sit there. I came down along with 10 folks, Mr Nirdosh told me that we dont have any reservation on my name, he gave us two tables and said, sir please manage here. He showed me list of reservations, my name was not there.I am attaching the snapshot of booking done on HighApe. Finally, somehow we settled and then ordered beers and starters. They were having only two choices of beers - Beera Blonde and Budweiser. I was shocked by seeing the starter quantity was too less and prices were very unreasonable. Beer pint cost 200 excluding tax, on zomato it is listed as 160. French Fries for 220 and it was less than MacD serves in small serving, Nachos - just opened wrapper and served it with very less cheese or sauce, cheeseballs were good but 5 pieces only. service was super bad and we never felt valued, after frustration we just want to come out, it took 30 minutes to generate the bill. It costed us around 8K and it was just waste of money. My ratings: service:0/5, ambience:1/5, food:1/5, value for money: 0 So many good places in Kormangala, this one...
Read moreIndigo Live Music bar was kind enough to have the Bangalore for Nepal Aid Collection and Blood donation but terrible Staff. We just finished our gig there and it was time for the bar to close. Our friends and family members were there with us and we were waiting for the artist dinner to be pack and pack our instruments too. Then there comes this staff member yelling at us leave and wait outside. Dude first of all we are doing you a favor of not wasting your plates and time and we are getting it parceled. That's what I thought. I told him just 5 minutes we are packing our instruments and waiting for our food. Okay now he looks at my friends and very rudely he tells them rules are rules GET OUT OF HERE. Now I was little conscious since he just crossed got on my nerves and we all are waiting near the lift. I was discussing with my friends how rude they are and this guy from Indigo Live bar interrupted in our conversation stating about rules again in a very arrogant tone. Now I moved forward and said see buddy let's not be rude here and he is totally ready to pick a fight with me. Hahahahahah. The funniest part is when he was taken aback by his colleagues i asked the waiter what's his name, he came aggressively from inside shouting its Vishnu. Lmao. I wish I had the CCTV footage with a little voice recorded and I will put it up anywhere and everywhere. Change your Staff attitude Indigo Live. Just because its located beside a college everybody are not college kid's. Learn to behave since we...
