This is a family run enterprise with a lot inovations in dishes, things I tasted here are 1. Pineapple Bajji - A really innovative dish with pineapple which I tasted for the first time and liked it with thier light masala sprinkled on it makes it a tasty snack Kodubale masala - This is the combination of thier plane kodubale along with onions tomatoes and some dry masala, if you're bored of eating the plane kodubale all the time give this dish a try Butti Idly - This is a must try or must recommended dish here and my personal favourite too, this would be a dish I would definitely return for, soft fresh hot steamed masala idlies in butti toped with butter is melt in your mouth dish, this scores a 5star rating among all thier other dishes Ice cream dose - This is again one of thier innovative dish, they put a normal dose then they smear ice cream all over it then top it with some sugar sweet balls, then while serving they top it with chocolate sauce served along with a scoop of ice cream, you can just try once for curiosity but didn't impressed me to try it for next time Hunse thokku rice - This is rice combined with hunse chiguru along with some of thier other raw masalas which go into making of this rice, I personally didn't liked this rice much as this is a tawa fried and the masalas they add are similar to the kodubale masala and they have different varieties of rice but the masala which goes into all varieties is same and I personally felt the masalas weren't cooked to perfection to hold on for rice and they were overpowering in thier flavours. Firstly every dish will be served hot and not to forget to mention that service very quick. Though we stay in the same neighborhood, didnt get a chance to visit from so long and finally we made it to this place. Hunger was at peak and we started with BUTTI IDLY which is so soft that you never realize chewing. Following, we tried CHEESE MASALA IDLY, CHOCOLATE MASALA DOSA, AMTEKAI RICE and ended with CHEESE KODUBALE. What is quite innovative here is this BUTTI IDLY (an spice included batter) and CHOCOLATE DOSA ( Nutella as a base instead of red chutney and candy sprinklers instead of Aloo palya). You can try this special CHIGARI CHINTAKAI RICE prepared only on Sundays. You can also buy some chutney paste and chutney powders that will be used to prepare flavored rice.

Jayalakshmi Fast Food is one amongst the older food cart vendors in Basavanagudi. They have been operating for over 25 years and little has changed in terms of taste and quality.
