We were just 3 KLG members at the American diner styled Just Loaf in Koramangala. So it was a happy surprise to have Vinutha and Kunal join us!
Egg Puff: The typical Bangalore bakery style puff with sliced onion masala and a boiled egg in the center. Excellent! Corn ribs: Deep fried corn with some chilly powder sprinkled on top served with mayo. The dish was almost cold. Decent taste but not great. Be well Salad: Loved it especially for the citrus vinaigrette. If you enjoy salads, go for this! Korean Garlic Bread: Light and fluffy but surprisingly average in taste. Fries: Hot and slightly thick cut the way I love, this was a winner! Korean Gochujang wings: They were served cold and the skin had dried out. When we mentioned this to our server, he promptly took it back. But to our dismay, it was merely reheated in the microwave and bought back looking even more dehydrated. It was sweet and spicy and tasted good though. The Buff Burger was loaded with cheese with the caramelized onions and mushrooms adding to the flavors. The pickles didn’t do much for me and they had forgotten the jalapenos. Tenderloin: I have zero experience with steak but a few of us felt it was a bit chewy, also it was served rare when we had asked for medium rare. The accompanying mashed potatoes were wonderful. Rice bowl - Chili Con Carne - one of the highlights. What looked like an unlikely combo, with mayo sprinkled on the rice, spicy chicken mince and a creamy coleslaw, turned out to be delicious. Milo Shake: This was chocolatey and creamy! I would have preferred little to no ice since it took away the richness of the drink. The desserts were also a highlight. A sinful chocolate croissant and a pear and ginger beignet! The latter tasted as lovely as it looked. A light bun filled with oodles of even lighter cream with a hint of ginger, we inhaled it in no time. The croissant was fabulous too.
The place is large with ample seating both outdoors & indoors. Service was friendly and efficient. A must-mention is that the washrooms...
Read moreDuring my first visit to Just Loaf in Koramangala, I was initially put off by the surprising number of bees both inside and outside the restaurant. Despite this inconvenience, the food more than compensated for the issue. The dishes were incredibly tasty and offered at prices lower than comparable eateries in the area, which was a pleasant surprise.
My second visit to Just Loaf was nothing short of excellent, and it reaffirmed why I decided to return. The allure of good American food is strong here. The lotus biscoff pancake was a delightful treat, perfectly capturing that rich biscoff flavor. The chicken steaks were cooked to perfection, accompanied by sides of fresh coleslaw and a mouthwatering sauce that tied everything together beautifully. The mocktails are a highlight, particularly the passionate Irish cookie shake, which is a must-try. The NYC chicken parm burger was also fantastic, offering a satisfying combination of flavors and textures.
One of the standout features of Just Loaf is the seating arrangement. With options for outdoor, rooftop, and two floors of indoor seating, there’s a spot for everyone, whether you prefer a cozy indoor setting or a breezy outdoor experience. Parking is available street-side and usually sufficient, making it convenient for diners.
Overall, Just Loaf offers a delightful dining experience with excellent food and a variety of seating options. While the bee issue during my first visit was a bit off-putting, the quality of the food and the pleasant dining environment ensured that I would return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for good American cuisine in...
Read moreOkay, before I get into the review, there are going to be some things I would like to point out here. Just because Instagram influencers said this is a brilliant place does not mean it is. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences. So let's respect it. I mentioned that line above because when I checked with a lot of folks, all I heard was "that xyz instagrammer was there last week, now I have to go!"... No, you don't have to go. I visited just loaf after listening to all the hype that was created.. which now made my expectations skyrocket and my judgment poor. I wanted to sit inside, but the AC room was full. The upstairs did not have a charging port, and the outside was too sunny, and the last table has a huge generator running with constant noise. (All these aren't really an issue, but you see the "hype" doesn't really tell you all this). I ordered for a cheese omlette and ice tea, "expecting" it to be out of the world cos of the hype. It was average, and I've honestly had better. The ice tea was good. I had to finish up some work so I continued to take a couple of calls with the Abient noise of the generator in the background (also had to request the staff to keep the door to that generator closed 3 times). Finally, I ordered a cheesecake which was i must say, it was quite good. I really wanna believe that it's a BRILLIANT place as shown on insta but I couldn't bring or convince myself to do that after what happened that day. But anyway you be the better judge and please don't believe these food bloggers they are the worst sort of folks who think they know how to review a food...
