Disappointed Birthday Lunch Experience
I visited this restaurant for lunch on my birthday and was really looking forward to the meal. We ordered Chicken Afghani and Mutton Biryani Akbari. The Chicken Afghani was quite good, but unfortunately, our experience took a downturn from there.
As we started eating the Mutton Biryani, we found a strand of hair in the very first bite. We initially chose to overlook it, but to our shock, we found more than four strands of hair in the biryani. We immediately informed the waiter.
Trying to salvage the meal, we went ahead and ordered Butter Naan and Chicken Jhingari. While waiting for the food, we noticed that other diners at a nearby table were also removing strands of hair from their food.
For a restaurant that falls on the pricier side, this level of hygiene is completely unacceptable. It was a very disappointing experience, especially on a day that was meant to be special. We sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves food hygiene and quality control.

Unpleasant Birthday Lunch Experience
I went for lunch on my birthday, expecting a good dining experience. We ordered Chicken Afghani and Mutton Biryani Akbari. While the Chicken Afghani was good, the experience quickly went downhill.
As we started eating the Mutton Biryani, we found a strand of hair in the very first bite. We initially decided to ignore it, but to our shock, we found more than four strands of hair throughout the dish. We immediately brought this to the attention of the waiter.
Trying to move past the incident, we ordered Butter Naan and Chicken Jhingari. While waiting, we noticed that other guests at a nearby table were also removing hair from their food, which shows this wasn’t an isolated issue.
The entire mood of our meal was spoiled. On top of the food hygiene issues, the service was poor and the staff were not very hospitable. To add to the disappointment, we were charged an extra service charge, which we refused to pay given the experience and the lack of proper service.
For a restaurant that is on the pricier side, this kind of quality and hygiene is completely unacceptable. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both food hygiene and...

Read moreMy wife and I visited Karims recently for lunch. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. Ordered their Afghani chicken for starters, after seeing this being recommended in a lot of the reviews. Also ordered Chicken Biryani Anarkali, Chicken Kali Mirch curry, Khamiri Roti and Garlic Naan for main course. Didn’t try any mutton dishes since we don’t like mutton in general.
The Afghani chicken was decent. The malai sauce flavour was mild as expected. But I guess I wouldn’t go for it again. Should try the chicken burrah or tandoori instead next time.
The Khamiri roti was a pleasant surprise, the texture and flavour was unique and we really liked it. Definitely recommended. A better option than the usual Tandoori Roti also made of wheat flour. The garlic naan was also good, quick thick unlike typical naan you get at other places but found the flavour of the rotis and naans to be unique and good. Meaning you could eat it on its own. Recommended again.
Coming to the Biryani, reminded me of a Lucknow style Biryani, and it was pretty good with balanced flavours but honestly not mind blowing.
The Chicken Kali Mirch curry was fantastic, the flavours were quite balanced with slight sweetness unlike other Kali mirch curries with a spice tangent only. Def recommended. Only issue being the chicken was overcooked and not tender. Couldn’t eat the chicken in the curry at all due to this. Didn’t bother to complain to avoid the hassle.
Overall, it’s a pretty good mughlai cuisine restaurant but can’t comment on how authentic it is compared to the OG in Delhi. Good service. Comparable to Sharief Bhai. Recommended to visit this place with a bunch of foodies so you could try a lot of different dishes. One star less for all the minor issues...
