We went there to celebrate our colleague's promotion and it was on my head to come up with a new place for the treat. And the moment I checked up this cute cozy restaurant in Zomato, I knew we had to try this and boy, we were not disappointed. We entered the restaurant and were welcomed with a big smile and we were seated comfortably. We were welcomed with panipuri and sugarcane juice, all served on the table and then the starters arrived. The sizzlers they served on the table, as a part of GST(GREAT SIZZLING TIKKAS) on a sizzling platter was nothing less of a miracle. The peppy prawns, the two types of chicken, the fish and the mutton seekh kebab, all sizzling on a platter, was like seeing a gastronomic movie on IMAX. We devoured it in no time and ordered a couple of more platters and devoured it again. For the veg sizzler, it had paneer tikka, cauliflower tandoori, harabhara kebab and couple of other items. Oh and the sugarcane juice that was served to go down with the sizzlers, was definitely a combo to die for. I gulped down two or three glasses of it.;)
Finally we were done with starters and we thought it's high time to move on to the main course. Oh before that, let me tell you that had a plethora of salads and you will be spoilt for choice. The main course had a myriad of dishes. Since I was almost full, I decided to be very selective about my dishes and I picked the ones which looked interesting enough. The main course non veg curries didn't stand out like the starters, but hey they still did make my taste buds happy. :) They also had a good collection of veg dishes and noodles as well.
A special mention goes out to the Awadhi Gosht Dum Biriyani which had all the flavors to bring a big smile on your face. However, personally I would have liked the mutton pieces to be more succulent and juicy. Apart from that, it was definitely tasty.
And then moving on to the desserts: this section has nothing extraordinary to make your jaw drop but there was a decent collection of desserts which included very soft gulabjamuns, freshly made Kalakand, gujia, peda, cut watermelon and pineapple, kiwi souffle, small strawberry pastries and 4 types of ice creams. Oh and BTW there were some very interesting ice creams toppings as well like the crunchy silver globules, which I had for the first time. All in all, a hearty lunch for Rs 699 all inclusive was not a bad deal at all. We all went back to office happily to search for beds for a power nap. 😂
My manager's manager had also joined us and she was extremely happy with my choice of restaurant and she complemented me as well saying that I raised the bar, every time I booked a restaurant for team lunches. ;) So, thank you team Brunchilly. Keep serving food food and you will see us again there soon. Check out my...
Read moreI recently booked a 5-night stay at this hotel, and I can't help but express my disappointment with the overall experience. The only redeeming quality of this establishment is its location, which unfortunately doesn't make up for the multitude of issues I encountered.
First and foremost, the rooms are incredibly small and lack any form of ventilation or balcony. The cramped space made the stay uncomfortable, and the absence of fresh air only exacerbated the situation. The air in both the corridors and rooms was stale and musty, creating an unpleasant atmosphere throughout the entire hotel. It's disheartening when you look forward to a relaxing stay after a busy day at work, only to be met with the overwhelming scent of dampness.
Adding to the dissatisfaction is the hotel's strict "no visitor" policy. This policy not only hinders the possibility of having friends or family join you during your stay but also contributes to an isolating atmosphere. While I understand the need for security, such a stringent policy can make guests feel unwelcome and trapped within the confines of their small and stuffy rooms.
To make matters worse, the staff does not want to help out in any way. Whether it's addressing concerns about the room conditions or absolutely anything else, the staff appears uninterested and unresponsive. The lack of willingness to assist guests only compounds the frustration of an already disappointing experience.
On top of all these issues, the absence of soundproofing in the rooms is a significant drawback. Throughout the night, I could hear the constant traffic noise and even the bells of neighboring rooms, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. The lack of sound insulation adds yet another layer of discomfort to an already subpar stay.
After spending 3 nights at this hotel (one of which I thankfully spent elsewhere), I'm contemplating checking out and booking another place for the remaining two nights. The combination of cramped quarters, unpleasant odors, restrictive visitor policies, and unhelpful staff has left me regretting my decision to stay here for an extended period. I would caution anyone considering a booking at this hotel to think twice and explore other options that offer a more enjoyable and comfortable experience, coupled with a staff that is genuinely committed to guest...
Read moreWe often hear the phrase "First impression is the last impression". But RBD Sarovar Portico has changed it for me since 2023. The very first time when I had visited Sarovar in June 2023 at early morning at 0130 hours IST, i got surprised when I saw battlee bar. I thought is that the correct location or there is some issue. It seems that the google map took me to a different location. Actually my colleague had booked the hotel and since part of cost cuting and collaboration we decided to stay together. He was there in the room and shared his location to help me reach RBD Sarovar portico safely. I was welcome by the front office staff and guided to the room. Check-in process was efficient. On reaching the room, I was impressed by the space and cleaniness. Next morning, we had breakfast from the 4th floor brunchilli. Got varied offering and delicious food. The two days stay was good enough for getting this selected for my future visits at Bangalore. This time in 2025, I had visited it again in June end. My check-in process was done by Mr. Nakul in a smooth and efficient manner. As I had opted for in-room dining, I had the chance to meet Mr. Kishan. He is efficient and customer centric and provides different options to the customer. I appreciated that attitude. I would like to thank Mr. Sameer and Ms. Sasmita from the front office who have been courteous and responsive throughout my stay. I would like to thank Mr. Hari Prasad Pandey, the security at the hotel, everyday greetings and smile made the customers happy. Appreciate this gesture which we do not find normally in India. People feeling shy to say hello and greet with a smile. Whereas I have found that very common outside India.|The checkout didnot took long and was ready in 10 minutes. ||Happy to come back to RBD...
