Was looking out for some buffet place and came across this place "The Big Barbeque". Located in marathalli, it serves one of the biggest spread as per it's name. Almost 150+ dishes inclusive of starters, main course, desserts etc at a very affordable price of 799+ tax for non veg.
Dropped down here today for lunch and really loved their spread. The ambience is well lit with a bar counter and has a huge seating area. If you are looking for birthday celebration then this can be one of the ideal place to choose, as they have a designated area for celebration of birthdays.
Now, coming to the food part. I had Peanut Butter Chicken, Crispy Corn, Cajun Spice Potato, Lemon Grass Fish, Cajun Spiced Prawns, Herb Panner, Corn, Cajun Mushroom in starters. All the items were made to perfection and tasted really well. Specially peanut butter chicken was something which i had for the first time and really loved it. The flavors were coming out really well and pieces were very well marinated.
In main course, I had Panner do pyaza, Handi Murg, Dal Tadka, Crab Masala and Biryani. All of the items were very fresh and hot to serve. Panner pieces were really soft and very well coated with the masala. Handi chicken went very well with assorted breads and tasted well.
Apart from starters and main course, they do have different sections of Live Pizza Counter, Live Grills, Chats Counter and Nati Style Counter.
Live Pizza Counter offers you with freshly made wood fire fire with the choice of your toppings right in front of you. They do have different varieties of veg and non veg pizza.
Live Grill Counter offers you with some exotics veggies and non veg meats. In veg you can choose from panner, mushroom, bell pepper, zucchini, babycorn while in non veg they have rabbit, duck, turkey, fish, squid and many more. You can choose the meats or veggies accordingly and it will be served on table.
Chats Counter offers some great lip smacking street food like pani puri, dahi puri, papdi chat, bhel puri, tokri chat. I tried Pani Puri and Dahi Puri. They have made it perfectly and it gave me the flavour of streets.
Nati Style Counter is something which I saw for the first time in any buffet. It was traditional south indian food which included ragi mudde, basaru, boti masala and nati style chicken.
At last, the best section of any buffet is desserts and "The Big Barbeque" has done a wonderful job at it. They have a variety of desserts such as sewai kheer, gulab jamun, moong dal halwa, assorted pastries, phirni, sabudana fruit custard and ice creams. All the desserts were made to perfection and tasted well. Specially moong dal halwa, perfectly balanced with flavours.
Also, they do have some cold stone ice creams, roll ice creams and kulfis. I tried strawberry roll icecream and pan kulfi's. It was a perfect way to end any meal.
Really loved the place and would highly recommend to this place if you are looking for the best buffet in town. Looking forward to...
Read moreOn February 26th , we visited The Big Barbeque Marathalli in our 5 months old Mercedes for lunch. We were stopped by the valet driver and we asked him if we should park it since it’s an expensive car. He assured us and we handed over the keys. As we stepped away, we saw 2-3 other valet drivers gathering around, checking out the car. My husband felt off, so he went back one more time and asked if he was sure he could handle it. Again, he reassured us.. About 45 minutes later, a restaurant employee casually approached us to inform “Sir, thodi si lag gayi hai” (Sir, it’s just a small scratch). We were expecting a minor dent but as he showed us the photo, we got shock of our lives. The valet driver had crashed the car into a temporary wall and the wall fell on the car. All three valet drivers fled the scene before we were informed. The restaurant manager said the wall was not made with cement to create a storage space there which is another dangerous safety hazard created by restaurant and the major damage was caused because so many bricks fell on the car. The restaurant manager and staff Instead of taking responsibility, they denied everything, smirking and acting as if they had nothing to do with it while our kids were crying in a corner. Even when the police arrived and backed us up, Big Barbecue representatives were rude, dismissive, and even laughing at the situation. They also tried to convince the police to not do anything and wash their hands off of this matter. We called the owner Udaya Mogaveera and he refused to come to the scene and told us that he has many BMWs and other expensive cars and instead of talking to him we should contact our insurance. He disconnected the call after that. Police asked them to get the driver's license and they produced someone from the valet agency and said he was the driver and we were given his IDs to claim the insurance. Even after reaching home, the trauma and mental distress from this incident continue to haunt us while the restaurant continues business as usual. To make matters worse, the expenses keep piling up, with repair costs already exceeding ₹20 lakh. The restaurant management refused to cooperate with the insurance investigation, further delaying the process, leaving our car stranded at the service center for the past one month. Insurance investigators later discovered that the driver presented to the police was fake, while the real driver—believed to be an unskilled labor from Bangaladesh—remains unaccounted for. There are also growing concerns from insurance investigators that something more may have been done to our car. This is NOT just about one car. It could happen to anyone. If businesses get away with such negligence, what stops them from doing it again? Please help spread the word to hold The Big Barbecue accountable, share this, tag people who can help spread the...
Read moreI visited this trending place in Marathahalli for a buffet. There was decent crowd present even though it was in the middle of the week. They have a huge seating space and true to their name, the spread is also quite big.
Lets get started with their food which was pretty extensive, even by my already high expectations.
Welcome drink and Salad Section : They gave a lime cooler as welcome drink. They have other drinks as well, including alcoholic ones, which can be ordered separately. There was ice gola served in a mini pressure cooker which was a delight to look at and slurp upon childishly. The salad section is huge and the cold seafood salad looled really captivating.
Grills and Starters: Their was a live grill at the table where they had chicken, fish, prawns etc in non vegetarian and paneer, mushroom, pineapple etc in veg. Apart from this they had momos, crispy corn, cajun spiced potatoes, chicken wings and chicken tangri as well. I particularly liked the fish and chicken items on the grill.
Nati Counter : They even had a small section for Nati dishes like ragi mudde, bassaru, boti masala, nati style chicken curry. This was very unique and a good addition.
Other Live Counters: They had live pizza and pasta counters, chaat counter and exotic meats section where you can try shark, rabbit, octopus etc if you are an adventurous kind.
Main Course : This is another elaborate affair and its quite good, specially the non veg section. In veg they had veg shanghai soup, exotic vegetables in butter sauce, noodles, dal tadka, rasam, paneer do pyaza, palak ke kofte, veg kolhapuri and veg dum biryani. Non veg items included chicken thukpa, murg dum biryani, murg handi, mutton masala, fish methi palak, egg do pyaza, crab in assorted tamarind sauce and chicken fried rice.
I had mostly non veg items and they were quite good, specially the mutton and fish curries. Even though very few people attend to main course, I will recommend not skipping it here as its pretty good.
Desserts : In desserts they had ice cream, kulfi, gulab jamun, pastries, moong dal halwa, kesar phirni, pudding, sabudana fruit custard, brownie and much more. They even had a chocolate fountain and a waffle section. Quite a delight for someone with a sweet tooth.
This is as big a buffet as it can get. There is something for everyone. Plan out with your family or friends and enjoy a lavish spread at the...
