I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Light of Italy in HSR Layout, Bangalore, and I can’t stop singing praises for their incredible ice cream, Funghi Pizza, lasagna, enchiladas, and special garlic bread! This place is a culinary haven, delivering authentic Italian and Mexican flavors with a flair that left me in awe. Starting with the ice cream, it was a creamy dream come true! The rich, velvety texture and perfectly balanced flavors—whether it was classic vanilla or indulgent chocolate—melted in my mouth, offering a refreshing and decadent finish to the meal. Every spoonful felt like a little scoop of heaven, making it a must-try dessert! The Funghi Pizza was a masterpiece. The thin, crispy crust was topped with a generous layer of mozzarella and plump, juicy mushrooms sautéed with Italian herbs and a hint of garlic. Each bite was a burst of earthy, savory goodness, and the cheese pull was Instagram-worthy! It’s easily one of the best mushroom pizzas I’ve ever had, perfectly balancing flavor and texture. The lasagna was pure comfort food elevated to an art form. Layered with rich, homemade Bolognese sauce, creamy béchamel, and gooey mozzarella, it was hearty yet not overwhelming. The pasta sheets were cooked to perfection, and the flavors melded together in a way that felt like a warm hug from an Italian nonna. I savored every forkful! The enchiladas were a delightful surprise, showcasing Light of Italy’s knack for Mexican cuisine. Packed with tender veggies and a flavorful filling, they were smothered in a tangy, mildly spicy sauce and topped with melted cheese. The tortillas were soft yet held up beautifully, making each bite a fiesta of flavors. It’s rare to find such authentic Mexican fare in an Italian-focused restaurant, but they nailed it! And let’s talk about the special garlic bread—oh, wow! This wasn’t your average garlic bread. The bread was perfectly toasted, with a golden, buttery crust infused with garlic and herbs, and served with a side of marinara that added a zesty kick. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and so addictive I could’ve made a meal out of it alone. The ambiance, with its cozy Italian-inspired decor and vibrant energy, paired with the attentive and warm staff, made the experience even more memorable. Light of Italy has truly mastered the art of creating dishes that are both authentic and soul-satisfying. I’m already counting down the days until I can return for another round of these spectacular dishes. Bravo, Light of Italy—you’ve set the...

I’m sorry but I have no idea how this place has such a high rating after feeding us food equivalent to dog dookie. We came into the restaurant after looking at the view outside ( 3 people) . We weren’t greeted or served the menu card for five minutes and let me remind you, there was barely anyone sitting here and it was prime dinner time ( 7:00 pm). The cutlery didn’t seem to be washed properly as I could feel dirt and grime.

Once we asked for the menu cards and ordered, half of the things we ordered “were currently unavailable”. In the end we had to order things totally different from our previous selections. We got cheese nachos and when I looked at it, no joke I wanted to vomit. It was an unnatural colour of yellow and tasted like milk ( more on that in a moment). The “so called” nachos felt like plastic and weren’t even seasoned. They sprinkled like 3 tiny pieces of bell peppers. The salsa was freezing cold and felt like it was pre-made. They gave this literally 5 minutes after we ordered and clearly they didn’t prepare it fresh. The tomato soup tasted packaged

We got a wood fire pizza which was originally a half-and-half but 15 minutes AFTER ordering they came to our table to tell it was unavailable. We ordered a different pizza and it was bad. I always thought there isn’t much to mess up with thin crust pizzas but somehow you guys did it!!! The cheese once again tasted bad and it honestly tasted mid. Also got a lasagna which was eh but better than everything else.

EVEN BILLING WAS A PROBLEM IN THIS DAMN RESTAURANT. We had to try so many times and finally settled on google pay. When we left I was honestly so annoyed at how horrible the food was and my day was ruined. After returning home I looked at my fingers and saw that THEY WERE BRIGHT YELLOW. THIS USELESS RESTAURANT JUST COLOURED MILK AND CALLED IT CHEESE. The nerve of them to charge 250₹ on these disgusting nachos and around 2k on the overall meal is horrible. Do not recommend. There are wayyyy better restaurants that give better food for a fraction...

A Pleasant Vegetarian Italian Experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

We visited this pure vegetarian Italian restaurant last week and had a nice experience overall. The ambience was really good, offering a calm and nicely set up environment perfect for a relaxing meal. Our selections included pizza, pasta, a jamun shot, and a green apple mojito — all of which tasted fresh and well-prepared, highlighting the kitchen's commitment to quality. A delightful surprise at the end was being offered two scoops of ice cream they were testing, a very nice gesture that added to the positive experience. The only minor setback was the service, which was a bit slow, though the staff was consistently polite and helpful.

While the staff was courteous, we felt a lack of product knowledge when inquiring about popular or recommended dishes. As new to the restaurant, we would have appreciated more guidance on the menu, especially for lesser-known recipes. For instance, we ordered the Aglio-e-Olio pasta for the first time. Had we been informed that it's typically a dry pasta without much sauce, we might have chosen something more suited to our taste. Better menu explanations from the staff would certainly enhance the dining experience. Overall, it's worth the money.

Nestled in the heart of HSR, Bengaluru, the newly opened Italian fine-dine restaurant, “Light of Italy,” has quickly become the talk of the town. This pure vegetarian haven offers a vast menu with over 100 delectable dishes, catering to diverse palates, including Navratri-special and Jain options. One of the standout features of Light of Italy is its charming interiors, inspired by the cozy ambiance of Italian homes. Upon entering, you’re greeted with warm, rustic decor that exudes a homely feel, making it the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant’s culinary offerings are equally impressive. Their wood-fired pizzas are nothing short of perfection, boasting that unmistakable smoky flavor and crispy crust that pizza enthusiasts crave. For dessert lovers with dietary preferences, Light of Italy offers a wide selection of eggless delights. What sets Light of Italy apart is its commitment to inclusivity. The restaurant offers a dedicated menu for Navratri, ensuring that those observing the festival can still enjoy Italian flavors. The Jain food options are thoughtfully curated, making it a go-to choice for those with dietary restrictions. I had high expectations based on previous reviews, but my experience at Light of Italy fell a bit short. The atmosphere was a highlight, with captivating portraits of famous places in Italy and creative lighting. The balcony seating added a nice touch to the ambiance. Moving on to the food, we visited on New Year's Day and opted for the special set menu. The starters, featuring cheese corn balls and paneer barbecue sauce, were delightful. However, the pizzas (Sicily and Napoli) were served cold and lacked flavor, perhaps influenced by the special offer prices. The pastas (Barbaresca and Alfredo) were commendable, but we received only one risotto instead of the promised two. Despite the tasty chocolate bomb, the blueberry cheesecake was a bit of a letdown. While the food had its highs and lows, the main issue was the service time. Each item took longer than expected, leading to a 30-minute wait for both the risotto and dessert. This could be attributed to the unexpected crowd on the special occasion, potentially impacting their logistics. Despite enjoying the flavors, the extended waiting times tested my patience, prompting a reduction of two stars in my rating. I believe a visit during a less crowded time might provide a more accurate assessment of the restaurant's overall performance.

I visited Light of Italy on my birthday and I must say I just loved the place. If you're craving authentic Italian cuisine with a plant-based twist, LOI is the place to be. This charming vegetarian Italian restaurant offers a delightful selection of dishes that prove you don't need meat to enjoy the flavors of Italy. The cozy, rustic decor immediately transports you to a quaint Italian villa. The warm lighting, wooden furniture, and plants create a welcoming atmosphere perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was impeccable—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. They offered me a chocolate cake with happy birthday song in the background which made my birthday special. The food is the star here. We tried juice shots, thin crust pizza, chocolate mousse cake and their super yummy natural flavored icecreams which are very similar to the authentic Italian Gelatos —simple yet incredibly satisfying. Overall LOI is a must-visit for anyone who loves Italian cuisine and prefers a vegetarian or vegan option. The flavors are rich, the atmosphere is warm, and the service is top-notch. Whether you're a lifelong vegetarian or just looking to try something different, this place won't disappoint.
