On seeing my post on an iconic breakfast spot in Indiranagar, a friend recommended me a few far from home in HRBR layout. Making a note to try some of them, I got to visit one recently on a drive to my office location near Devanahalli, where I was re-routed to avoid traffic. It was Madras Tiffins, a large space service breakfast delicies from the South, specifically from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. I managed to get parking in the adjacent road and walked up to order a puri kurma and a masala dosai, Tamil Nadu style. The menu also offers a Karnataka style dosa as well, which I wish to try sometime. I picked up my plate of three pooris and a mini bowl of kurma to my seat, quickly stopping at the dosa counter requesting some potato masala, which I usually love with my pooris. I was politely refused and the disappointed me went back to my table and started devouring the freshly made crispy pooris with the kurma which barely made it to the third poori. But thankfully I had gone and picked up my masala dosa by then so I managed to sweep off some potato masala from the center and finished off my poori. I did see a person going around serving extra portions of chutney and sambar as needed, but his options were limited to coconut chutney, kara chutney, and sambar and he requested me to head to the counter if I needed an extra serving of kurma. I did try a bit of poori with the tomato chutney served, it was an excellent version that I am used to earlier and it was great here as well, highly recommended.
Now the masala dosa was paper thin, crisp, not too oily and was excellent with all the individual chutneys, and also with that tangy spicy Tamil Nadu style small onion sambar, another excellent version that is highly recommended.
I ended the meal with a fantastic filter coffee that was moderately bitter and mildly sweet, served in a dabara, thoroughly enjoyed before the long drive ahead of me to the office.
The place is well ventilated with an open kitchen, clean, hygienic, and friendly if not very helpful staff, a good experience, could have been great if they had obliged with my requests for that extra potato masala, nevertheless a great place that I would recommend you for some fantastic fare...

First of all, the place is so small here and it is not friendly for physically challenged person.
Second, we had been for lunch but the service is horrible at the meals section. No one is there to take care or govern that section(might be because I visited on Sankranti), the guy at the billing counter is unaware of the items that is available in the kitchen. He just bills whatever we order from the Menu and then when we head to the food counter they say that the item is over.
Third, the food was horrible, like rasam, vata kolambu was too tangy. Items are again missing and they don't have a alternate.
I had order for 1 Pongal special meals and 2 mini meals. In Pongal Special meals there where many items missing on top of that they are short of cutlery because of which we are suppose to wait for more than 40 mins to get a plate of meals. Anywhere in Karnataka ordering a meals is the easiest thing because it doesn't take much time to prepare. But here it was the other way round. And the dishes were too tangy to taste because of which I had to waste the food and get back. The papad in Mini Meals was not at all fried and it was too hard to eat.
Overall, I wasted a hefty amount on food in the noon today. Very bad experience, they have to improve in all...

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by an underwhelming ambience that felt more chaotic than cozy. The decor was drab, the lighting harsh, and the overall atmosphere lacked any warmth or charm. It was a far cry from the inviting environment I had expected. Unfortunately to add on, the service was just as disappointing. Our server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, making us wait an inordinate amount of time before taking our order and even longer to bring our food. Despite there being a token system.
As for the food, it didn’t redeem the experience either. I had high hopes based on the menu descriptions, but what arrived was a letdown. The flavors were bland and uninspired, suggesting a kitchen that could use a bit more creativity and passion. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when every bite feels like a chore rather than a delight.
Overall, my visit to Madras Tiffin was a series of missed opportunities. With such poor service, an uninviting atmosphere, and subpar food, I cannot justify recommending this place to anyone. There are plenty of other dining options out there that offer a much more enjoyable experience. Save your time and money – this one isn’t...
